Thom Zahler's "heroically super" situation comedy comic book, Love and Capes, continues it's popular run when issue #4 debuts this Saturday, May 5th, at Free Comic Book Day. Love and Capes is the ongoing story of Abby and Mark. She's a bookstore owner. He's an accountant who also happens to be the city's top super powered crime fighter, The Crusader. In issue #4, the Crusader is "bugged" by all the attention a new hero, The Arachnerd, and his movie, are receiving. Abby, meanwhile, has to deal with Amazonia's attempts to toss a wrench into her relationship with Mark.
Love and Capes #4, the next chapter in the ongoing series of comicdom's newest favorite power couple, officially debuts on Free Comic Book Day. As a special bonus, this issue also features a behind the scenes feature on how the book is created and a new reader contest, "Who Wants to Create a Hero?". Open to people of all ages, the contest will let readers create their own super character, who will appear in Love and Capes #6, slated for a November release. The winner will be chosen based on originality by series creator Thom Zahler, and will appear along with a "created by" credit. The winner will also receive a complete set of Love and Capes, as well as an 11x17 print of the page their character appears on, suitable for framing.
