Hey, True Believer!

The gang in the Bullpen has just learned that they've won three key 2001

Diamond Gem Awards! The direct market retailing community gave the nod to

mighty Marvel for the following:

COMIC BOOK PUBLISHER OF THE YEAR: MARVEL COMICS

BEST COMIC BOOK OF THE YEAR (UNDER $3.00): AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #36

BEST REPRINT TRADE PAPERBACK OR HARDCOVER OF THE YEAR: ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN VOL. 1

"I'm proud to be working with an editorial group and creative teams that

make my job look easy, " said Marvel Editor In Chief Joe Quesada. "These

awards are well earned and belong to them."

"Thanks to outstanding work by our creative and editorial teams, Marvel --

led by Joe Quesada and Bill Jemas -- was the only major comics company to

post positive growth in 2001," said Marvel Manager of Marketing

Communications Bill Rosemann. "It's great to see the retailing community

recognize this fact with a vote for The House! And how cool is it to see

Spidey once again at the top of the mountain? As always, we thank our

retailing friends for their continued support. And everyone should stay

tuned for more fun surprises coming in 2002!"
