Official Press Release

With the summer heat blaring down, Viper Comics urges you to grab hold of your soul tightly and take a ride on The Underworld Railroad, a four-chapter horror/adventure series created and written by Jason M. Burns with art by Paul Tucker. Historically inspired by the stories of the Underground Railroad, Burns' latest graphic novel tells the tale of a system of safe houses established around the globe, put in place to offer refuge to confused and bewildered spirits who attempt to outrun the devil.

"The Underworld Railroad in one of those cool stories where history meets fiction," states Viper Comics President Jessie Garza. "Everyone is familiar with what the Underground Railroad was, but here Burns puts a supernatural spin on it, showing us what happens to ghosts who aren't granted immediate access into the afterlife. The concept alone is intriguing, but when combined with Burns' storytelling and Tucker's art, we knew right away that we had a slam dunk with the book."

No stranger to Viper Comics, Burns is the creator/writer of popular titles A Dummy's Guide to Danger and The Expendable One, the story of a hapless indestructible hero that was recently optioned for film by Intrepid Pictures.

The Underworld Railroad will ship to stores in late August.
