Official Press Release

This July, as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of MAD, the legendary, original MAD comics return in MAD ARCHIVES Volume One! This 224-page, oversized (8 1/2" x 11") hardcover re-presents the first six issues of MAD, showcasing the spectacular talents of Harvey Kurtzman, Jack Davis, Will Elder, Wally Wood and John Severin, with a new foreword by MAD co-editor Nick Meglin.

DC Comics is pleased to offer a special incentive to retailers: For every four copies of MAD ARCHIVES Volume One ordered, you will receive one copy of the MAD PORTFOLIO, a full-color portfolio of the 23 original MAD Comics covers. These portfolios were produced by Russ Cochran in conjunction with his Complete MAD Comics Set in 1986 but never were distributed.

Please note that this incentive is offered on initial orders only.

MAD ARCHIVES Volume One (MAY02079) is a 224-page oversized hardcover (8 1/2" x 11") solicited in the May Previews (Volume XII Number 5) and arriving in comic-book stores July 17 with a cover price of $49.95 U.S.
