As I revealed a few short weeks ago, the CBR team is living and working on a 42' Yacht in the San Diego Marina, behind the convention center that plays host to Comic-Con International in San Diego. Now, in addition to living and working on the boat, I'm also conducting video interviews from all sorts of people inside and outside the comics industry. We bring them out to the boat, let them enjoy a cold beverage and just talk - about anything. It doesn't have to be just comics, but there's certainly plenty worth discussing.

It's been, shall we say, an interesting experience thus far. Living on a boat isn't exactly like living in a home or staying in a hotel room. First, there's the rocking back and forth, which really isn't all that bad, but every once in a while WHAM the boat hits up against the dock. It's like we experience mini-earthquakes constantly. It's really not at all bad, especially when it rocks you to sleep at night. That's a nice thing.

While we ordered a boat with air conditioning, it conveniently isn't working! Despite the best attempts of the yacht owner, no go. We figured that shouldn't be a problem as it was supposed to be 72 degrees and sunny all week. Well, it's been more like 80-85 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. So, it gets a little hot for a couple of hours each day. It's manageable, but ya know, that A/C would have been nice.

Outside of that, we're having a lot of fun. It's a nice oasis away from the insanity of the Gaslamp District. At night, it's super quiet out here on the marina and about 5-10 degrees cooler than on the other side of the convention center.

With that said, I present to you the very first CBR Boat Show. In this first edition, I give you a tour of the splendor of the yacht. Coming up soon we'll present interviews from the bridge with Paul Dini, Michael Turner and many more. I think you'll like it.

Sincerely,

Jonah Weiland
