Official Press Release

DC Comics has added special variant covers editions to two key titles for October: ACTION COMICS #858 and BATMAN #670!

BATMAN #670 features the debut of new series artist Tony Daniel, who joins writer Grant Morrison with this issue's special prelude to the upcoming "Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul" storyline. The Standard Edition of this issue features a cover by Tony Daniel; the Variant Edition features a pencils-only version of the same art.

For every 25 copies of the BATMAN #670 Standard Edition (AUG070228), retailers may order one copy of the BATMAN #670 Variant Edition (JUN078156). This issue is solicited in the August Previews, and is scheduled to arrive in stores on October 31 with a cover price of $2.99 U.S.

In ACTION COMICS #858, new series penciller Gary Frank joins writer Geoff Johns for the extra-length first chapter of "Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes," which spins out of the recent "Lightning Saga" storyline from JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA and JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA. Both the Standard and Variant Editions of this issue feature covers by Gary Frank.

For every 10 copies of the ACTION COMICS #858 Standard Edition (AUG070236), retailers may order one copy of the ACTION COMICS #858 Variant Edition (JUN078155). This 40-pagew issue is solicited in the August Previews and is scheduled to arrive in stores on October 31 with a cover price of $3.50 U.S.
