Continuing the march toward what will be its biggest event ever, today Heroes Convention added six new names to its 2008 Guest List, including fan-favorites Michael Lark, Erik Larsen, and Ryan Ottley. With nearly three full months left before the June 20-22 convention, their already famously enormous guest list has broken all records in HeroesCon's 26-year history.
Attending his first ever HeroesCon, Michael Lark is best known for his work on Daredevil and Captain America, as well as the short-lived but acclaimed Gotham Central series with fellow HeroesCon guest Greg Rucka. Erik Larsen is the publisher and co-founder of Image Comics, one of the largest comics publishing companies in the country; as well as creator of the long-running Savage Dragon series. Also attending his first HeroesCon is Ryan Ottley, artist of the popular Invincible series, written by fellow guest Robert Kirkman.
HeroesCon has long been known for its incredible guest list, drawing creators and publishers from across every corner of the comics industry: from mainstream superhero comics to independent and online comics. The result is a convention atmosphere unlike any other in the country, where the emphasis is on the interaction between fans, creators, and publishers. This year's HeroesCon will also feature a greatly expanded schedule of panels, interviews, and creator spotlights, further contributing to this "comics-first" atmosphere.
The addition of fan-favorite creators like Michael Lark, Erik Larsen, and Ryan Ottley, and the expansion of an already massive guest list which looks to cross the 300 mark sometime this spring, promises to cement HeroesCon's "must" status on the summer convention circuit.
