Official Press Release

Automatic Pictures and Blind Ferret Entertainment have chosen Diamond Comic Distributors to exclusively distribute their graphic novels and consumer products to comic shops, bookstores, libraries and other mass merchandise outlets worldwide.

Presided over by company principle Frank Beddor, Automatic Pictures is a media incubator of creative properties--including the upcoming big-screen incarnation of the classic board game Monopoly and the New York Times Bestseller, Looking Glass Wars.

Looking Glass Wars was written by Beddor, and is the first volume of a trilogy that has spurred the author and his Automatic Pictures team to develop a visionary holistic methodology that supports both the artistic and marketing aspects of the project.

The company also developed the comic book series Hatter M., a parallel adventure depicting the journey of Alyss' faithful bodyguard, Hatter Madigan. Hatter M was nominated in 2007 for the prestigious Will Eisner Award for Best Limited Series.

"Being in business with Diamond is the lit fuse on the armory of my imagination," says Automatic Pictures President, Frank Beddor. Looking forward, I expect even greater heights for the Looking Glass Wars: Hatter M as Diamond and Automatic Pictures Publishing come together to spread the Truth of Wonderland."

Diamond Sign New Publishers to Exclusive Distribution Deals

Blind Ferret Entertainment was started with the simple goal of creating and developing entertainment that reached out across a multitude of mediums. As an independent production company, Blind Ferret's reach extends into print, television, the internet, and other multimedia outlets.

The company plans a full line of graphic novels based upon online properties such as Looking For Group and Least I Could Do.

"We're thrilled to be working with such a distinguished partner as Diamond. Not only are they one of the most well known and respected distributors in the market, but they really understand the graphic novel industry and where it's going. When it came time to decide who to work with, Diamond really was the natural choice," says Randy Waxman, President of Blind Ferret Entertainment.

"Diamond welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with both Automatic Pictures and Blind Ferret Entertainment," said Diamond Vice President of Purchasing Bill Schanes. "We are excited to showcase products that were created by such innovative companies. We're looking forward to working with both companies to promote and sell their books and merchandise."
