TAMPA, FL., June 13, 2001 - CrossGen Comics has hired industry veteran Chris Oarr, who will serve as Director of Marketing and Sales, filling a niche necessary to CrossGen's planned expansion.
Oarr comes to CrossGen after a brief period with DC Comics. Previous to DC, he was Executive Director for the not-for-profit Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF). While at the CBLDF Oarr ran day-to-day operations and coordinated fund raising events, including the CBLDF Comics Cruise and Neil Gaiman's Guardian Angel signing tours. He has also served as Executive Director for the Small Press Expo, helping to grow that convention into the force it is today. Prior to that experience, Oarr acted as a political consultant to various governmental and private organizations working in international development matters. Oarr spent much of those eight years specializing in the Asian rim, Russia and other former Soviet states.

Oarr will join the marketing department led by Vice President, Product Development Tony Panaccio to work alongside Director of Marketing and Distribution James Breitbeil and newly promoted Director of Corporate Communications Ian M. Feller.
