Official Press Release

DC Comics is pleased to announce plans to publish Mark Waid's and Barry Kitson's miniseries EMPIRE with new material by the original creative team of writer Mark Waid, artists Barry Kitson and James Pascoe, and colorist Chris Sotomayer. The project will be edited by Joey Cavalieri. Format and release dates are yet to be determined.

"It's a great relief that we'll be able to release EMPIRE on a regular basis," says Kitson. "We're very happy to have DC behind us."

"I couldn't be happier that DC's seen fit to help a super-villain take over the world," says Mark Waid. "Barry and I will make sure that Golgoth's march of terror leaves 1700 Broadway untouched amidst the rubble."

Mike Carlin, Executive Editor - DC Universe, says, "We've had a long and creative association with both Mark Waid and Barry Kitson. As publishers we're happy to help them realize the completion of a project close to their hearts, and as readers we're dying to see how EMPIRE turns out!"

Further details will be announced as they are available.
