Animation pioneer Willian Hanna dies at the age of 90

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that William Hanna, one half of the team that brought us cartoons under the Hanna-Barbera name, has died today at the age of 90. According to Sarah Carragher, director of publicity for Warner Bros. who owns Hanna-Barbera, Hanna died at his home in North Hollywood, California, with his wife of 65 years by his side. No immediate cause of death was announced, but Hanna has been in declining health for a number of years.
