THE SPIRIT

It's all about the lovely ladies -- the first three photos in Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con preview are of the femmes fatale from Frank Miller's movie meditation on the Eisner creation.

HEROES

Ooh, is that a new commercial out already?  Go, Hiro!

WATCHMEN

CBR News has the skinny on where to see the elusive new trailer.  There's also a new motion comic based on the property at Entertainment Weekly (which also rocked the movie on the cape, but Superhero Hype has a has a photo of some promotional merchandise.

THE DARK KNIGHT

Some have already seen it, but the film officially premieres today.

The halo effect around it has already seen effects as the animated "Batman: Gotham Knight" DVD is reporting brisk sales and rentals (according to ICv2).  The sequel has also set a record (according to the Hollywood Reporter) of opening in more North American theatres than any other film ever has.

You meet Jim Gordon's daughter in this movie?  Is her name Barbara?  Red headed?  Penchant for flying rodents?  Director Christopher Nolan answered MTV's questions therein ...

Superhero Hype also spoke to composers Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, who performed live at the premiere.  "When you normally go and see a movie," Zimmer said, "you get there a little early, you get to see the trailers etc. but at the premiere it just goes to black while not everyone is sitting down and I did not want them to miss the first 10 minutes while everyone is gabbing and sitting down and switching off their cell phones ... The stage was struck; I mean these stagehands were amazing. They had to get this 400 pound taiko off the stage. And you had all these people freaking about 'what if this thing rolls into the screen.' But I was more worried about me as opposed to the screen! (laughs) But I think it did exactly what it was suppose to. It set this up as something so extraordinary."

TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN

More misinformation, or is that an Autobot you might know?  Comic Book Movie has a look at what they're calling a Corvette Autobot, with possible confirmation from Michael Bay.

Meanwhile, actor Rainn Wilson talked to Ain't It Cool News about his cameo.  "I spent a few days on the set of the first movie and something I noticed was that Michael Bay, I think he has an AD, but he doesn’t need one," Wilson said.  "He does everything and he’s not afraid to be the task master on a set."

PLASTIC MAN

The new rumors at Latino Review updated page claim the Wachowskis confirmed that Keanu Reeves will play Eel O'Brien.

THE FLASH

Speaking of red-clad heroes, producer Chuck Roven is still chasing the dream for a movie about the fastest man alive, or so quotes at Slashfilm.  "We had hoped to be able to get a new draft going before the writers’ strike and we weren’t able to," Roven said. "And since the writers’ strike, we just haven’t been able to find the right creative compatibility between what we’re looking for and a writer and you know, we’re a little bit dragging our feet, we’re just waiting to see what’s going to happen with this actor’s strike, you know."

TMNT 2

Could a sequel be in the works? That's the rumor at Ain't It Cool News.  They found an official quote from the company, saying.

THAT'S A WRAP

We can't do this without you.  The rumors, the scoops, the set photos -- they're all fueled by passionate fans emailing in the goods.  The ones who ask, "What do you mean your sister's dating somebody who works for Warner Brothers?"  The ones who know the code names of movie projects and scour city permit filings for them.  The devoted, the involved.  Fans, just like you.  Whatever you know, we wanna know, and whether you want your name shouted to the web's rafters or kept closer than a classified report, we've got you covered like a comforter.  Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu saying thank you for your time and indulgence, and The Hundred and Four possesses no artificial ingredients or preservatives.
