Official Press Release

Golden is back in Baltimore! After a jam-packed two years of gallery exhibitions in Barcelona, Gijon, New York, Paris and Belgium, along with "Special Guest" nods from numerous shows throughout this past year, including the Barcelona Comic Con, Michael is heading back to the place that started that return to the convention trail full force--the Baltimore Comic Con --and he's bringing a few Heroes and Villains with him!

The renowned comics creator will be taking a weekend off from his current projects--both comic and film-- to sign and do some sketching at Baltimore, as well as offer fans his new hardcover sketchbook, "Michael Golden's Heroes and Villains." The new book is 48 pages, full color, and will be available in Artist's Alley at Michael's table while supplies last.

One of the most influential storytellers of the last few decades, Michael will also be featured in one of the give-a-ways for this years Harvey Awards.

Courtesy of Woodcrest Productions and Eva Ink, producers of the "Creator Chronicles" documentary series on industry greats, a preview DVD will be going into every gift bags for all Harvey Award attendees. These special edition discs will only be available at the Harvey's and will feature interviews with Golden and other renowned comic book professionals. Other subjects for the "Creator Chronicles" series include George Perez, Bill Sienkiewcz, Joe Jusko, Joe Sinnott, Matt Wagner and many more.

Both Woodcrest, Eva Ink and Golden himself are happy to support the Harvey Awards, which are one of the comic book industry's oldest and most respected awards, recognizing outstanding achievements in over 20 categories, ranging from Best Artist to the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame. They are the only industry awards both nominated by and selected by the full body of comic book professionals. The event takes place September 27th. Contact the show to get your tickets now.

As for other Golden news, numerous new books and DVD's on the artist have been hitting the stands, including: "Excess: The Art of Michael Golden," from Vanguard Productions--which sold out and has gone into a second printing with a new Vampirella cover; "Modern Masters Vol.12--Michael Golden" tradepaperback from TwoMorrows Publishing; the "Modern Masters in the Studio with Michael Golden DVD"; as well as the recently released "Creator Chronicles: Michael Golden," documentary, which is a comprehensive look at the artist and his influences as seen never before in any format.

Michael will be on hand both days of the Baltimore Comic Con, September 27-28 at the Baltimore Convention Center, along with other comics creators: Bernie Wrightson; Brain Bendis; Jim Lee; Mike Mignola; Mike Oeming; Frank Cho; Howard Chaykin; Tim Sale; Amanda Conner; Jimmy Palmiotti; Mark Waid; Ron Garney; David Finch; Robert Kirkman; David Mack; Darwyn Cooke and Adam Hughes among many others.
