Official Press Release

This June, the acclaimed writer/artist team of Warren Ellis and John Cassaday takes the archaeologists of the unknown to Batman's home turf in BATMAN/PLANETARY: NIGHT ON EARTH. This 48-page, Prestige format one-shot serves as the reintroduction of Elijah Snow, Jakita Wagner and the Drummer, and leads into PLANETARY #16, which has been rescheduled to arrive in comic book stores in August.

"When we saw John Cassaday's amazing rendition of the Dark Knight, we knew the best way to reintroduce PLANETARY to the world was to tie it to DC's best-selling hero, Batman," says Bob Wayne, DC's VP - Sales & Marketing. "By moving the BATMAN/PLANETARY one-shot up in the schedule, we're giving PLANETARY more exposure before its return, as well as publishing a comic that no fan of Warren Ellis, John Cassaday, BATMAN or PLANETARY will want to miss."

BATMAN/PLANETARY: NIGHT ON EARTH is a 48-page Prestige format one-shot to be solicited in the April issue of Previews (Volume XIII #4) and scheduled to be in stores on June 25.

Two months later, PLANETARY #16 will be resolicited in the June issue of Previews (Volume XIII #6) with an in-store date of August 27. The solicitation for PLANETARY #16 (FEB030199) in the February issue of Previews (Volume XIII #2) is cancelled.
