IDW Publishing has provided CBR with exclusive previews of “Presidential Material: Barack Obama” and “Presidential Material: John McCain,” the new comic book biographies of the two leading candidates for President of the United States. On sale October 8 in finer comics stores everywhere, IDW’s biographies of both senators are painstakingly researched and utilize the true American art form of comics to explore the histories of the candidates vying for what is arguably the most important job in the world.

Barack Obama’s biography comes courtesy of writer Jeff Mariotte ("Angel: Old Friends") and artist Tom Morgan. John McCain’s is written by comics veteran Andy Helfer — who’s also written biographies of Malcom X and Ronald Regan -- with artwork by Stephen Thompson (“Star Trek: New Frontier”). Cover artwork is provided by comics superstar J. Scott Campbell.

When you’re through checking out these exclusive preview pages, be sure to visit CBR’s Independents forum to discuss “Presidential Material” with fellow readers, and if you’re a U.S. citizen, don’t forget to register to vote and go to the polls November 4.
