THE ADVENTURES OF AQUAMAN: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION
Produced by Filmation

Good old classic Saturday morning fun! 36 episodes of full-cereal-bowl goodness! - Reviewer Doug Zawisza

BATMAN: THE COMPLETE ANIMATED SERIES
Produced by Alan Burnett, Paul Dini, Eric Radomski, Bruce Timm, Various

The ultimate expression of the Batman in any medium. - Staff Writer Andy Khouri

"Batman: The Animated Series," by Bruce Timm, Paul Dini and many other gifted creators, is perhaps the best adaptation of the comics that has ever been produced. In fact, many comic book fans feel this cartoon managed to outstrip even the comic book in its handling of Batman and his various allies and villains! Indeed, many of the various takes on villains in the animated aeries ended up being translated into the comic book (most notably, Mr. Freeze), and two important characters in the comics, Harley Quinn and Renee Montoya, were created for the animated series.

"The Complete Animaged Serie"s comes with 17 DVDs containing all 109 episodes of the original show. It also has a new documentary DVD called “Shades of the Bat: Batman’s Animated Evolution.”  Twelve of the episodes come with commentaries, and there are eight special "making-of" features.  - Brian Cronin, Blog Manager - Comics Should Be Good

THE DARK KNIGHT
Directed by Christopher Nolan
Written by Christopher Nolan, Jonathan Nolan, David Goyer

Who doesn't want a copy of this film? "The Dark Knight" out-sold "Star Wars" to become the second-highest grossing film in U.S. history, so that means there is a better than average chance that the comic fans in your life would love to have this special edition DVD that hits stores on December 9th, 2008, just in time for Christmas. - Contributing Writer Brian K. Eason

Between “Dark Knight,” “Iron Man,” and “Hellboy II,” it's been a great year for comic book movies. For the sort of grim indie drama that appeals to even the non-comics set, though, it's hard to beat the latest Batman flick. Dark, brooding hero? Beautiful doomed heroine? Tragic ending emphasizing the hopelessness of human endeavor? It's all here. Go Blu-ray for high-def action. - Staff Writer Shaun Manning

FALLOUT 3
Developed by Bethesda Game Studios

Sure, we all collect comics for enjoyment, maybe to scratch a little OCD itch (or maybe a big one).  But the newest PC, PS3, and 360 video game from Bethesda Softworks (creators of "The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion") goes a step further and has actually littered their post-apocalyptic version of Washington D.C. with barbarian comics that will actually increase your strength statistics!  You'll never get another chance to gain something legitimately useful from reading comics. - Reviewer Benjamin Birdie

THE INCREDIBLE HULK (GAME)
Developed by Edge of Reality

For the comics-loving gamer who may have missed it at the time. “The Incredible Hulk” is the next-gen revamp of 2005’s “Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.” The game is tied-in to the Ed Norton film -- and features his voice as Bruce Banner -- but plays like a Grand Theft Auto title. The missions are fun and varied, but leave plenty of time for HULK SMASH! The game even features Marvel landmarks to smash like the Latverian Embassy, the Baxter Building, Stark Tower, and even Marvel’s Corporate Offices! - Contributing Writer Erik Amaya

IRON MAN
Directed by Jon Favreau
Written by Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway

You don't have to be a superhero fan to appreciate Marvelís summer blockbuster. A near-perfect mix of humour, sexiness and action means almost anyone can find something to enjoy. - Reviewer James Hunt

In what was a great year for comic book fans at the theaters, this movie was simply the most fun. Who knew that Iron Man would make a better movie than a comic? It makes perfect sense now that we’ve all seen it. - Staff Writer Seth Jones

JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE NEW FRONTIER
Directed by Dave Bullock
Written by Stan Berkowitz, Darwyn Cooke

For the DC Comics fan with a fancy new HDTV and Blu-Ray player. The high-def formats show off best with recent animation and “New Frontier” is one of the best looking, best sounding, fun stories you can get in Blu-Ray. Adapting the Darwyn Cook graphic novel, " New Frontier” is a quasi-prequel to the formation of the Justice League. Also, it’s probably the best showcase of Hal Jordan outside of comics. - Contributing Writer Erik Amaya

LEGO BATMAN: THE VIDEO GAME
Developed by Traveller's Tales

I picked this game up the day it was released, and I’ve loved it ever since. Easily the most enjoyable Batman game I’ve ever played, with tons of sheer fun and immeasurable replay value. A must-have for any Batman fan. - Contributing Writer Justin Eger

For the whole family. Patrol Gotham City and punch the Joker in three-dimensional Lego action! - Columnist/Reviewer Timothy Callahan

MORTAL KOMBAT VS. DC UNIVERSE
Developed by Midway Games

Worlds collide as the heroes and villains of the Mortal Kombat and DC universes fight for the survival of their respective planets. Featuring all-star rosters, incredible finishing moves and a story by Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti, MK vs. DC offers a great experience for comic fans and gamers alike. - Contributing Writer Brian LeTendre

The Dark Knight made Batman cool again ñ the perfect excuse to introduce gamers to the wider DCU in this entertainingly gratuitous beat-'em-up, featuring a host of favorites from both properties. - Reviewer James Hunt

Battles between Mortal Kombat and DC Universe characters have been filling the imaginations of fanboys for years, and now those battles come to life with this state-of-the-art video game. The special collector's edition comes with box art painted by comic book icon Alex Ross, as well as bonus video content and a 16-page comic book. - Staff Writer Jami Philbrick

I don’t own a PS3 or an XBox 360, but if I did, this is what I’d want! - Staff Writer George A. Tramountanas

MOUSE GUARD ROLE-PLAYING GAME
By Luke Crane and David Petersen

For the gamer or the Mouse Guard enthusiast. - Reviewer Doug Zawisza

POPEYE THE SAILOR: 1941-1943
Produced by Fleischer Studios, Famous Studios

All the Fleischer "Popeye" cartoons are brilliant, but this collection is notable as Popeye enlists in World War II, to comedic and heroic effect. - Contributing Writer Van Jensen

SPEED RACER
Directed by Andy Wachowski & Larry Wachowski
Written by Andy Wachowski & Larry Wachowski

For the young at heart. Don't listen to the grumpy old folks who criticized this visual feast of a movie, "Speed Racer" will burn your retinas with awesomeness. - Columnist/Reviewer Timothy Callahan
