Official Press Release

Less than a week after its in-store date of March 26, WONDER WOMAN #190 (JAN030249) has sold out at DC. This issue features the second chapter of the 6-part epic "Game of the Gods," written by Walter Simonson, with art by Jerry Ordway and P. Craig Russell and a cover by Adam Hughes.

DC has no plans at this time to reprint the issue.

"It's always gratifying to work on a comic book that picks up in sales; it's a particular pleasure when the book involved belongs to an iconographic character like Wonder Woman," says Simonson. "I couldn't be more delighted."

"Cutting Wonder Woman's hair is far from the biggest twist in the 'Game of the Gods,'" says Editor Ivan Cohen. "There are plenty of reasons for new readers to come back for the remaining chapters. Everyone involved - Walt and Jerry, who came up with the haircut notion; Adam Hughes, whose cover image has helped catch the attention of the mainstream media; P. Craig Russell, John Workman, and of course, Trish Mulvihill - has really poured their heart and soul into these issues. It's fantastic to see their work get the attention it deserves."

"People who don't normally buy comics are flocking to comics shops to see Wonder Woman's new look," says Vince Letterio, DC's Manager - Direct Sales. "We expect interest in WONDER WOMAN to continue to build, and encourage retailers to increase their orders on upcoming issues now."
