Official Press Release

Aspen Comics returns to the Bay Area for WonderCon 2009 at the Moscone Center and will be unveiling their all new original action-adventure series Executive Assistant: Iris along with other new convention exclusives available only at the Aspen Comics Booth #513. Executive Assistant: Iris is created by David Wohl and Michael Turner and is written by Wohl with art by Eduardo Francisco and John Starr. Wohl will be on hand throughout the weekend at the Aspen Comics booth to sign autographs and discuss the all-new Aspen property. Wohl discussed Executive Assistant:

“Since Aspen began in 2003, I've looked forward to the opportunity to work with my friends there. And when we began to develop the concept of Executive Assistant: Iris, it is a thrill to be able to work with Michael Turner and the guys. Collaborating with Eduardo Francisco and Peter Steigerwald, I think we created a very cool launching point for the series. And with the launch of Executive Assistant: Iris #0 at WonderCon, we will finally be able to show everyone the fruits of our labor!”

Aspen will be launching the series at the convention with the release of the Executive Assistant: Iris #0 WonderCon 2009 cover by Joe Benitez and Peter Steigerwald, limited to 500 copies. As well, Aspen will also be offering the Aspen Seasons: Winter 2009 exclusive WonderCon 2009 sketch cover by Michael Turner, limited to 500 copies. Both exclusive books will only be available at the Aspen Comics Booth #513. Aspen will also be offering past convention exclusives and will be releasing all new Aspen trademark convention prints.

In addition, Aspen will have a multitude of other creators and artists on hand at the booth throughout the weekend including Frank Mastromauro (Dellec, Shrugged), Peter Steigerwald (Soulfire, Fathom, Hulk), Vince Hernandez (Dellec, Soulfire: Shadow Magic), Mark Roslan (NBC’s Heroes), J.T. Krul (Fathom, Soulfire), Ale Garza (Fathom), Joe Benitez (Soulfire), Micah Gunnell (Dellec, Shrugged), and Beth Sotelo (Shrugged, Fathom).

The Aspen Comics Panel on Friday at 1:30-2:30pm will offer a glimpse at the new Aspen properties Executive Assistant: Iris and Dellec, and showcase the company’s plans for their flagship titles Fathom, Soulfire, and Shrugged. The entire Aspen crew will be on hand to preview the new and current titles, and answer questions from fans. The Aspen Comics Panel will be held in Room 104.
