Official Press Release

Paperwork in Hell, pseudo-progressive corporations, and a slacker rich kid turned philosopher king figure in Warlord of Io and Other Stories by James Turner. The new collection of short comics stories by the Rex Libris creator will be released in April 2009 by SLG Publishing.

The title story of Warlord of Io and Other Stories chronicles the rise of Crown Prince Zing of Io, who unexpectedly ascends to the throne when his father retires to the Pleasure Domes of Zur. The newly crowned Emperor Zing's adventures will continue in a new series by Turner, Warlord of Io, the first issue of which will be released in July 2009.

Also included in the collection are "Hell Lost," a satirical story in the style of Turner's graphic novel Nil: A Land Beyond Belief, "The Democrat of Globcorp," a curious two-pager called "Tales of the Inanimate Chair," and "Terror of the Tiki Space Pirates," created for the anthology Slave Labor Stories: Too Stupid to Quit, Too Mean to Die to commemorate SLG's 20th anniversary.

The 48-page Warlord of Io and Other Stories will be released in comic stores in April 2009 and is available now for pre-order with the Diamond code FEB094020.
