NO HEROICS

The artist Jock (“The Losers,” “2000 AD,” “Green Arrow Year One”) has told fans via Twitter that he is “ironing out the tweaks in some NO HEROICS costumes,” and that the show has completed casting. Follow @jock4twenty for further updates. (h/t to Holden)

To go along with this, Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Freddie Prinze, Jr., has joined the cast as Ultimatum, your smug, famous, eminently popular hero. No word yet on whether he will remake a homely heroine into a glorious amazon on a dare, only to fall hopelessly in love with her in the lead up to prom...

PUNISHER: WAR ZONE DVD

CBR has a contest to win the “Punisher: War Zone” DVD. Go on and try your luck.

Punisher: War Zone, starring Ray Stevenson, is available now on DVD and Blu-ray.

IRON MAN 2

ET Online has a video interview with Jon Favreau from the premiere of “I Love You Man.” IESB has a transcript of portions of that video dealing with Iron Man 2. Favreau said shooting begins in two weeks and that rehearsals are going on now. Final casting announcements will be made next week. Favreau would not confirm rumors regarding Mickey Rourke or Scarlett Johansson, though based on his responses Rourke at least seems a lock.

(IESB's photo of Rourke in a Russian prison also lends credence to the rumor.)

Iron Man 2 starring Robert Downey, Jr., is scheduled for release on May 7, 2010.

GREEN LANTERN

@WarnerBrosEnt scheduled to begin filming mid-September in Australia on "Green Lantern"

Green Lantern is scheduled for release on December 17, 2010.

THE GREATEST MUPPET MOVIE OF ALL TIME

AICN has a script critique of the new Muppets movie, finding more good than bad.

KICK-ASS

HitFix visits the set of “Kick Ass,” and finds Nicolas Cage channelling Adam West.

SMALLVILLE

EW has a video preview of a preview of Smallville, leapfrogging this week's episode to tease three that follow.

New episode, “Turbulence,” airs tonight 8:00 EST on CW.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

According to TV Guide, "the first hour-and-a-half of the finale is so intense, you'll find it difficult to breathe.” And TV Guide never, ever exaggerates.

Two-hour series finale can be seen Friday at 9 EST on SciFi Network

G.I. JOE: RISE OF COBRA

The folks at Dark Horizons have seen five minutes of footage from Paramount's “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra,” and report that the film's plot seems to revolve around Cobra's manipulation of microscopic nanites. The Eiffel Tower is eaten, etc.

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra premieres August 7.

THE CASTING COUCH
