IRON MAN 2

With the film now less than a year away, the hype machine was in full swing at Comic-Con. We have a full report of the "Iron Man 2" panel from Saturday. MTV Splash Page has several red carpet video moments with cast, including Don Cheadle talking up War Machine:

Directed by Jon Favreau, release date: May 7, 2010

SMALLVILLE

Several readers emailed me Saturday to let me know Comic Book Movie's Superman design was false, which is no surprise as a real design document from the show would feature either a face that resembles the lead actor or no face at all. Comic Book Movie later confirmed the design was fake. According to the CBM affliated Voices from Krypton, a basic costume will appear: "No secret now, but Clark is going to be wearing a blackish trenchcoat with a silver 'S' logo as he embraces the heroic image that fans of the 'red and blue blur' have been placing upon him," says Voices from Krypton's Ed Gross. Kryptonsite's Twitter feed reveals, simply, "Yes there is an S!" Kryptonsite also has a number of interviews with the cast.

New Episodes begin September 25, 2009

300 2

IGN caught up with director Zach Snyder in regard to the "300" sequel. He says he waiting for Frank Miller to release the sequel as a comic before he dives into developing the film. "I don't want to influence that process," Snyder says. "I want to duplicate the path [of development.]"

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD

Monday means a double shot of Pilgrim. First: Knives Chau, 17 Years Old. Second: director Edgar Wright and director of photography Bill Pope at a screening of "Army of Darkness" and "Team America," films Pope shot. Bonus: Look who I saw hovering around the Oni Comics Booth on Saturday:

THE AVENGERS

Collider spoke with Marve Studios president of production Kevin Feige. According to him, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and Nick Fury will definitely appear in the film. He also says, "it's safe to assume that there will be some members of the Hulk universe in the film as well." He also seems assured Black Widow (though not necessarily Scarlet Johansson) will appear.
