THE GREEN HORNET

Cameron Diaz spoke with MTV Splash Page about her role in the film as Casey, the secretary of the Hornet's alter ego Britt Reid. "I'm going with Michel, because this is Michel's movie and Seth's movie. So, I'm playing the character that they wrote for us," says the actress.

PRIEST

Maggie Q has been cast in the film, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Q will play a priestess who joins Paul Bettany's main Priest to kill vampires.

SUB-MARINER

Collider spoke with director Jonathon Mostow about the progress on the film. While in active development, Collider points out the project is at Universal. This means the film, when it finally comes about, will have no ties to Marvel's Avengers-based on-screen universe.

Director Guy Ritchie tells MTV Splash Page a film based on the DC wartime hero is one of a number of comic book projects he is developing. He would also like to be shooting a film in January. He will not say which project he'll chose because it is "an interesting time in movies right now ... I've never read so many good scripts."

SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK

Over the past couple of days, work on the Broadway musical based on the Web Slinger has halted. Apparently, the production is out of money. MTV Splash Page has a nice round up of the situation, complete with word from one of the producers that everything is a-ok. "Hello Entertainment is aware of the speculation about the future of Spider-Man on Broadway and is re-confirming that the plan is to resume production shortly and preview on February 25th, 2010 at the Hilton Theatre when cash flow issues have been resolved," says the statement to MTV News.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS

World's Finest (via MTV Splash Page) notes the back of package art for the upcoming "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" contains a listing for a preview of the next DC Universe animated film. The title would suggest a retelling of the first Justice League/Justice Society team up. World's Finest notes Dwayne McDuffie as the writer of the film. McDuffie was a producer on "Justice League," which previously used story elements from "Crisis on Earths 1 and 2" for its first season two-part story "Legends."
