Things go boom on the set of the film. Following MTV Splash Page to a site called jeffreydeanmorganunlimited.com leads us to a brief clip of explosives going off. I'd call this spy footage. The Splash Page suggests this is what actor Idris Elba was referring to when he twittered, ""My Sunday sees me watching a car get blown 25 feet into the air ... Not the norm."

MTV Splash Page also reveals the film, based on a graphic novel by by Robert Venditti and Brett Weldele will not feature its main antagonist. "I can't give away too much about the movie, but it's sort of an amalgamation of a couple of things," says director Jonathan Mostow about the change. "We tapped into certain themes more deeply in the movie than the comic book did," he continues. While adapting properties from other mediums usually leads to some changes, this one is unusual. Mostow believes the book's relative unknown status allowed him to make a big change without the usual internet fanfare. "We didn't have this giant audience that's like a judge and jury ... I know that's happened recently with some of the other graphic novel properties that have turned into movies."

THOR
Actress Diora Baird twittered about her audition for the film, according to MTV Splash Page. She says the part calls for "pretty, but sturdy with muscle." Not being an avid reader of Thor, I can't speculate on what part that might be. Even Splash Page is stumped. Whether or not Baird gets the role, it would appear Thor will have his work cut out out for him.

Captain Marvel (of the DC variety) rises again. After many scripts, delays, and a flirtation with the Rock, Bill Birch and Geoff Johns are onboard to write a feature based on the Mightiest Mortal, as we reported yesterday here at CBR.

Moviehole has posted a casting sheet for the film. These sheets let the various agencies know what types of people a production needs. This particular one looks to be a roundup of small roles with maybe a line or two each (if that), except for the listing of a "Video Clergyman." According to Moviehole, this unnamed character is a "BRITISH ACCENT speaking Clergyman is in his 50s. A pleasant enough old chap, almost like a friendly tour guide, except he forgives those that sin. He also reminds his flock, 'to go against the Church is to go against God!' Seeking actors whom live in LA." That is definitely a speaking part.
