Spawn, Smallville. Priest: August 24th Comic Reel

According to Comingsoon.net, creator Todd McFarlane has begun work on a script for a new "Spawn" film. This film will not be a sequel and McFarlane notes "the tone of this 'Spawn' movie will be for a more older audience. Like the film 'Departed.'"

SMALLVILLE

Entertainment Weekly posted a preview of the upcoming season. It features the black suit, Metallo, and even a little bit of Zod. Proceed with caution if you're avoiding spoilers.

Variety reports actors Stephen Moyer and Lilly Collins have joined the film. Moyer will be brother to Paul Bettany and Collins will be Bettany's niece.

Screenwriter Ryan Condal has picked up scripting duties on the Fox project based on Greg Rucka's Oni Press series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The article describes the project about "a female Special Ops agent who is on the run after carrying out a high-level assassination in Eastern Europe."

NewsOK's Nerdage blog (via Comic Book Movie) reports actress Yancy Butler appeared at Dallas Comic-Con and spoke about her role in the film. "The nemesis to Nicolas Cage is a gangster," says Butler. "And I played the moll, his wife."
