GHOST RIDER 2

Screenwriter David Goyer is in talks to pen the script, according to Variety. "Through a spokesperson, Goyer said he hadn't signed on yet. But plans are already under way to base the sequel on a 'Ghost Rider' script written years ago by Goyer," writes Variety. Nicholas Cage is expected to return.

Release date: TBA

SIN CITY 2

MTV News asked "Sin City" star Clive Owen about the long-in-gestation sequel. "I'm hearing it might be next year," says the actor. The sequel is expected to be based on "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," which details how Dwight came to look like Clive Owen. The sequel will also feature a new story centering on Nancy Callahan, played in the first film by Jessica Alba.

HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned Warner Bros had cut lose the "He-Man" project after several years of development. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the property has already found a new home at Sony's Columbia Pictures. The article describes the premise: "The 1980s show, named 'He-Man and the Masters of the Universe,' followed a blond warrior named Prince Adam who, when uttering the magic words, 'By the power of Grayskull -- I have the power,' turned into the heroic He-Man. He and his allies -- Battle Cat, Man-at-Arms and Orko -- defended their planet Eternia from the evil forces of Skeletor, who tried week after week to conquer the fortress Castle Grayskull, which imbued He-Man with his powers."

SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK

The Los Angeles Times looks into the on-going off-stage drama of the Spider-Man musical. LA Times writer Patrick Pacheco talked with Alan Cumming, who will play the Green Goblin. "I think they're being very cautious in announcing things," says Cumming. "Fingers crossed."

Starring Evan Rachel Wood, opens: February 18th, 2010

SUPERMAN/BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES

IESB has another of those interview/press releases for the film. This time voice actor Kevin Conroy discusses his association with Batman, going back now to the early 1990s. "For Batman, I think the biggest challenge is the timber of the voice that I established early on. I just kind of improvised it and it stuck. It's very deep in my register - very throaty - and whenever it gets emotional, it's a difficult sound to create with a lot of volume technically without blowing your chords out. So there's all kinds of tricks you learn along the way of how to produce a sound, how to produce it without injuring yourself, and how to juice it enough. It's a delicate, funny balancing act," says Conroy.

Featuring the voices of Tim Daly and Clancy Brown, release date: September 29th, 2009

MAL CHANCE

Variety reports Platinum Studios has set up its graphic novel, "Mal Chance," with producer Tony Krantz. Variety says the project "tells the story of Lola, part of an ancient clan of assassins targeted for death by a powerful gangster. Her only recourse is to bring down the gangster's entire operation with the help of an honest FBI agent who is unaware of her true identity."

A DISH BEST SERVED COLD

I got my Blu-Ray copy of "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" in the mail yesterday and it looks great in high definition. It's amazing how many films from the 80s I've watched dozens of times contain startingly new detail in their 1080p forms. It makes me wonder how films currently in production will look once they arrive in hi-def home video. If you discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of Iron Man 2 on Blu-Ray.
