THE GREEN HORNET

Superhero Hype points to this artcile from People Magazine on the troubles of actor Edward Furlong and ponders this statement in the last paragraph: "'He has gotten really upset -- anybody would,' the friend says of Furlong, who is slated to start production on "The Green Hornet" this weekend." Furlong's name has not been previously mentioned in connection to the film. Meanwhile, Splash News has some great footage from the set, including what appears to be the first shot of Seth Rogen in costume:

Starring Seth Rogan., release date: December 17th, 2010

IRON MAN 2

Entertainment Tonight has more video from the set. This time, an interview with Gwyneth Paltrow:

Release date: TBA

DEAD OF NIGHT

It's Just Movies attended an early preview screening of the film. While still in a work state with effects either incomplete or missing entirely, reviewer Vanna Land found the film "charming from start to finish with plenty of laughs, just enough gore and suspense and lots of witty banter, even between the most unlikely of characters." She also notes the reaction of the crowd. "The audience certainly seemed to enjoy the movie. Everyone was laughing at the right times and quiet at other times," Land reports.

Starring Brandon Routh and Sam Huntington, release date: 2010

JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS

MTV News has posted the preview for the film from "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies."

Release date: 2010

JOHN CARTER OF MARS

Sci Fi Wire notes yesterday's announcment of actors Thomas Haden Church, James Purefoy and Mark Strong joining the cast indicates three of the "John Carter" novels contribute story elements to the film.

Starring Taylor Kitsch, release date: TBA

CLASH OF THE TITANS

I must have memory problems. After decrying the lack of fantasy films earlier this week, we've had plenty of "John Carter" news and now Empire has posted the cover to its upcoming issue featuring actor Sam Worthington as Perseus from the remake of the Ray Harryhausen classic. I knew this movie was happening. When I interviewed Worthington this past summer, he even mentioned going back to the set soon to fight the Kraken. Clearly, I must have memory problems.

Release date: 2010

SUPERMAN BEGINS?

Would-be director James McTeigue continues to talk his vision of a Superman film up. Firstshowing.net spoke with the director of "V for Vendetta." While explaining his vision is not necessarily the knee-jerk "Dark Superman" concept, he mentioned the franchise itself is still shaking into shape and there have been talks within the studio. "I think they're still trying to work out the mechanics of how that can come together," says McTeigue

Release date: 2012?

IN A HOLE IN THE GROUND

Besides "The Hobbit," there are other fantasy films and I am grateful for that. While most of these films are a way off, it is nice to see them coming along down the pipe. With those films secure, let's get back to comics. If any of you discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of the One Ring.
