SPAWN

"Arguably, January 2 I can go into Hollywood and start knocking on doors," says Todd McFarlane about the long in the works Spawn project. Talking with MTV News, the creator explained the legal hassles that has kept the character off screens of any size for the last ten years. "We developed another 85-minute, movie-length storyline, but things got complicated near the end and there were some legal issues, so it got frozen because of that." The work on this animated project was extensive before it was shut down. "The characters are designed, the background is there, and we've even done the voice recording," says McFarlane.

Release date: TBA

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD

Just when you think director Edgar Wright's blog was done with the film, Wright reveals the Winstead Effect. "The 15 minutes that gets lost when any member of the post production team look directly in Ramona’s eyes," the director explains.

Starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, release date: 2010

HEROES

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Todd Stashwick will play Eli, a new character with ties to the carnival. Meanwhile, E! Online says one of the characters will die. Presumably the death will be more permanent than it tends to be on the show. "I will tell you that this leading character is a male, and he is not necessarily pictured above. (He might be, he might not be.) And he is one of the original cast," says E!'s Kristin Dos Santos.

New episode: Monday

ASTRO BOY

In case you missed it, CBR has several new shots from the film. IGN also added some new pictures.

Directed by David Bowers, release date: October 23rd, 2009

LOBO

Maybe Jeffrey Dean Morgan isn't the Main Man after all. The actor tells MTV News, "I don't know that I'm a big blue guy"

Release date: TBA

RAIN AT LAST

Rain has finally come to the Los Angeles area and I, for one, welcome cooler weather and dreary skies. Cue up some Jesus and Mary Chain and you have the perfect soundtrack. Some people hate this weather and it might make them pliable to reveal information on forthcoming comic book based films. If any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of slick highways.
