LOBO

Clancy Brown as Lobo? Comic2film at Mania.com reports a source close to the production suggests the actor could take on the part. "Wouldn't he be awesome? I think he'd knock it out of the park," says their source. There is also some talk about Lobo being a CGI creation or a mixture of disciplines.

TORSO

For Brian Michael Bendis and "Torso," things are never easy. He chronicled his early attempts to get this story made as a movie in the classic "Fortune and Glory." After writing (with Marc Andreyko) and illustrating the graphic novel based on their pitch, a deal was eventually made. David Fincher was set to direct with an A-List cast. Then it all collapsed. Now, Bendis tells MTV News, "Not so much. Things are percolating back and movement is afoot behind the scenes to get it going again with all the principals, so ... we'll see what happens."

TIN TIN: THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN

Nick Frost tells Sci Fi Wire about being directed by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson via iChat. "So we had a laptop with Peter's face on, and he had kind of two, three cameras pointed at the action and pointed at us, too, so we could actually talk to him via some link or hookup. So it was odd. It was quite weird," says Frost, who plays Inspector Thomson in the film.

ASTRO BOY

Time for an "Astro Boy" press roundup. Over at Sci Fi Wire, cast and crew discuss the darker aspects of the film. IGN has added recent video interviews to its archive. Popular Mechanics looks at some of the real technology possibilites glimpsed in the film. IESB has a photo gallery from the premiere and here at CBR, we have an interview with director David Bowers.

Directed by David Bowers, release date: October 23rd, 2009

CAGES

Over at Dave McKean's Twitter page, the writer/artist mentions, "Great first meeting about 'Cages' film; a long term possibility, but good to know all interested parties are on the same page."

Release date : TBA

BATMAN 3

While Christopher Nolan's upcoming film, "Inception," is shrouded in secrecy, the third film in the director's Batman cycle is even more covert. Though it is most certainly being developed, everyone close to Nolan is mum on the project and it drives all of us on the comic book film beat a little, well, batty. MTV News asked actor Cillian Murphy about the third film. "We don’t talk about those things," says Murphy.

WATERS AROUND SPIVEY POINT

While I'm not a great fan of horro movies, I love the work of John Carpenter. "The Fog" is a film that made me admire him more. While it certainly has some gore, the movie is very much an old fashioned ghost story, filled with slow revenge and moodiness. While only one character is directly related to the supernatural events occuring, the rest of the cast must deal with the immediate reality of what comes at them in the fog. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The power is yours! Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of a clipper ship called the Elizabeth Dane.
