Official Press Release

After the huge success of this summer’s blockbuster Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen movie from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, in association with Hasbro, IDW continues the excitement with TRANSFORMERS:BUMBLEBEE, an all-new, four-issue miniseries. Under license from Hasbro, IDW expands this fan-favorite character, as BUMBLEBEE finds himself between a rock and a hard place with his own friends.

Written by Zander Cannon with art by Chee, TRANSFORMERS: BUMBLEBEE spins out of events in the new ongoing TRANSFORMERS series. The miniseries picks up with BUMBLEBEE finding himself in an unfamiliar position after the CYBERTRON-shattering events of TRANSFORMERS #1. Chee and Guido Guidi will provide the covers.

“As one of our writers observed, ‘everybody loves BUMBLEBEE!’” said IDW’s TRANSFORMERS editor, Andy Schmidt. “And given his new position amongst his fellow TRANSFORMERS, we just had to give him the spotlight!”

TRANSFORMERS: BUMBLEBEE is part two of IDW’s new trifecta of TRANSFORMERS comics, starting with the new TRANSFORMERS ongoing series in November and rounding out with TRANSFORMERS: Last Stand of the WRECKERS in January. Written by the critically-acclaimed Mike Costa, TRANSFORMERS #1 starts things off with not one, but two, events so huge that the lives of the TRANSFORMERS characters will never be the same. Coming in January, TRANSFORMERS: Last Stand of the WRECKERS plots the course of AUTOBOTS in space as they confront a new foe who just might tear the Springer, Kup, and their cadre of AUTOBOT heroes apart.

The TRANSFORMERS #1 will be available in stores in November. Diamond order code #SEP09 0852.

TRANSFORMERS: BUMBLEBEE #1 will be available in stores in December. Diamond order code #OCT09 0954.

TRANSFORMERS: Last Stand of the WRECKERS #1 will be available in stores in January. Diamond order code #NOV09 0819.
