THOR

Brian Michael Bendis writes on his Twitter page, "Broadcasting live from marvel west. Thor movie meeting with Ken branagh was over the top amazing. Visited the sets! I was in Odin's chamber!" Meanwhile, Stan Lee jokingly tells MTV News, "I'll probably end up carrying a spear," for his "Thor" cameo.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, release date: May 20th, 2011

SMALLVILLE

Chloe Sullivan will get a new man her life in an upcoming episode. Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello writes, "The character's name is Steven Swift, his alias is Warrior Angel, and he’s being played by Carlo Marks. Does that actor sound familiar? He should. He also played Chloe's 'what if' fiancé in the season 7 episode 'Apocalypse.'"

New episode: Friday

UNTHINKABLE

Mandalay pictures has picked up the Boom! Studios property, according to Heat Vision at The Hollywood Reporter. The describe the project as being about "a brilliant man who was recruited just after 9/11 into a government think tank consisting of America’s most imaginative minds and tasked with dreaming up wild scenarios for possible attacks on U.S. soil. Years after the think tank was disbanded, the attacks the man concocted begin to occur, and he becomes the only one who can stop them. But the government has become his pursuer."

Release date: TBA

THE LAST DAYS OF AMERICAN CRIME

Sam Worthington has signed on to the adaptation of Rick Remender's comic. According to Mania.com, the actor will play "Kevin Cash, the safecracker who (along with his beautiful girlfriend Shelby) is enlisted in the heist at the last minute."

Release date: TBA

SPIDER-MAN 4

Today's Black Cat rumor courtesy of Deadline Hollywood's Nikki Finke: Anne Hathaway. While I'm still approaching these casting rumors with caution, Finke writes "sources tell me that the producers have approached Anne Hathaway to star in the film. Maybe you experts have an idea what she'll play? All I know is that she's wanted for a starring role, and she won't replace Kirsten Dunst." She later updates with the Internet scuttle about Black Cat, so even the character's presence in the film is still conjecture.

Directed by Sam Raimi, release date: May 5th, 2011

THRUSTERS ON FULL

So I picked up the "Star Trek" movie on Blu-Ray and I have to say it still holds up as the most enjoyable movie of the summer. It has its flaws, but there's so much energy and drive that it just, um, warps past them. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of Starfleet.
