[CrossGen Comics]TAMPA, FL., August 7, 2001 - CrossGen Comics continues to build up its bullpen roster with the hiring of inker Dave Meikis and colorist Rob Schwager.

Meikis begins immediately as inker on the title Negation working over the pencils of Paul Pelletier. Schwager will come to CrossGen and first work on relief issues before taking over his own title sometime in 2002.

Dave Meikis has been inking comics since shortly after his graduation from the Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art in 1993. Meikis' credits include his creator-owned Image Comics title Arkaga, issues of JLA and JSA for DC Comics, as well as being the regular series inker for DC's Hourman.

Rob Schwager has been coloring comics for more than ten years. He has worked for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and Image Comics on the titles Shadowhawk, Action Comics, Batman: Gotham Knights, Green Lantern, Sovereign Seven, and more. He also established and ran his own design company which created posters and colored video game packaging. Some of these credits include posters for Smashing Pumpkins and The Ramones and video game packaging for an X-Men game for Activision and Game Boy.

"Both Dave and Rob bring to CrossGen two of the main things that we look for: professionalism and talent," said CrossGen Art Director Brandon Peterson. "The addition of these two artists to our staff only further strengthens what has become the most talented studio in comics."
