THOR

Ain't It Cool News reports actor Stuart Townsend has been let go from the production. Townsend was to play Fandral in the film, but according to AICN the actor was "6 hours late for a screen test." AICN also mentions this is not the first time the actor has lost a high profile role. The actor was initially cast as Aragorn in "The Lord of the Rings," but was reportedly let got because producers believed he was "too young" for the part. AICN updated with a link to a Canadian Press article indicating actor Joshua Dallas has taken Townsend's place.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, release date May 6th, 2011

GREEN LANTERN

Just in case you missed it, we at CBR reported over the weekend that actress Blake Lively of "Gossip Girl" and "Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants" fame has been cast as Carol Ferris.

Directed by Martin Campbell, release date: June 17th, 2011

KICK-ASS

Yahoo! Movies has a new trailer for the film that is, indeed, well ... you know.

Starring Nicholas Cage, release date: April 16th, 2010

SPIDER-MAN 4

As we reported last night at CBR, John Malkovich confirmed his involvement in the film as the Vulutre to Italian television. Meanwhile, Heat Vision reports Tobey Maguire has commented on the production delays. "We're just in the midst of the process. We have a lot of great stuff in terms of story and script. We're just trying to dial it in and get it ready as quickly as possible. Of course, these movies are a very big undertaking and take a lot more time than a drama or something more straightforward," said Maguire.

Directed by Sam Raimi, release date: May 5th, 2011?

RED

Meanwhile, Malkovich has signed on to "Red," taking over the part previously held by John C. Reily. According to Heat Vision, shooting begins this week.

Release date: November 19th, 2010

JONAH HEX

Heat Vision also reports reshoots on the film will take place at the end of the month. According to Heat Vision, "Warner Bros. and Legendary are assembling Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Megan Fox and Michael Fassbender for a roughly 10-day shoot in the Los Angeles area for the movie, beginning at month's end." It seems Malkovich has plenty to do while he waits for "Spider-Man 4" to finalize a script. Meanwhile, Will Arnet tells Superhero Hype,"[My character] is much more serious ... I hope. Otherwise I've failed miserably at my job."

Release date: June 8th, 2010

CLASH OF THE TITANS

Director Louis Leterrier tells MTV News the film will not be released in 3D. "We tried [to do 3-D for 'Clash'].' We tried hard. We just won't have time," says the director. My eyes are quite happy about this development as a stereoscopic Kraken will only bring pain.

Starring Sam Worthington, release date: March 26th, 2010

SMALLVILLE

It seems Season 10 is becoming more and more of a reality. Entertainment Weekly's Micheal Ausiello spoke with CW president Dawn Ostroff about the prospects of the show continuing next season. She told Ausiello, "if you would’ve asked me [earlier whether it would end this season] I would've said, 'Oh, probably.' But I can't say that now."

New episodes : Janurary 22nd, 2010

HEROES

No decision has been made on the fate of the show. NBC executive Angela Bromstad tells Sci Fi Wire the show will pitch ideas for next season, as is standard practice. She does mentions the show, should it return, will continue at its curret size. "Actually, Heroes has already been very responsible in having a good budget, so I don't think that we'd be looking at cutting it further," Bromstad said.

BUCK ROGERS IN THE 25TH CENTURY

Italian website Comicus.it spoke with actor Bobby Quinn Rice, star of the upcoming "Buck Rogers" web series, based on the original look and premise of the time lost character. "It is a retro kind of science fiction with a modern update. I think people are hungry for that look and style. It is something that has stood the test of time for sure, and I think people want to see again,"says Rice. "The old style rockets and blasters all had this sort of charm. A product of its time everything was "atomic" and then "nuclear". Some of it just worked and did not have explain itself because that was just for fun."

Release date, 2010

A CASE OF THE MONDAYS

Well, after a restful weekend we're back to the craziness of the film world. From one announcement to another, I almost wonder if I'm still watching "Dr. Parnassus." At the same time, that Sinestro announcment must be on the horizon. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, just plain weird, or spot Mysterio up to his usual hijinks, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of the next casting decision.
