The casting avalanche begins. As we reported yesterday here at CBR, actor Peter Sardgaard has been cast as Hector Hammond, a GL villain with a prominent forehead and mind control powers. Hammond will, reportedly, be the chief antagonist in the film. Sinestro is expected to appear in the film, but I'd imagine his fall will be held back for the sequel.
Starring Ryan Reynolds, release date: June 17th, 2011

Everyone is guessing who might take the reigns of the Spider-Man franchise. Entertainment Weekly suggests, among others, Micheal Bay. While here at CBR, we've made some casting handicaps. I'd like to suggest a somewhat unlikely name with David Fincher. Fincher previously circled the franchise, pitching Sony on a six-minute credit sequence/origin story that would allow to tell a complete story without focusing on the origin. Sony insisted on a full telling of the origin and Fincher moved on. He has also worked with current screenwriter James Vanderbilt on "Zodiac" and could supply some of the "grim 'n' gritty" treatment Sony wants to inject into the character. Do I have any information that he might be interested now? No, but it's all a guessing game until Mysterio's mists dissipate and Sony announces something solid

THE THING BEGINS
Bloody Disgusting chatted with current "Thing" prequel writer Eric Heisserer. He is working from a draft by "Battlestar Galactica" revamper Ron Moore, which tells the tale of the Norweigan camp that first came into contact with the alien entity that ultimately becomes Wilford Brimley. "It's a really fascinating way to construct a story because were doing it by autopsy, by examining very, very closely everything we know about the Norwegian camp and about the events that happened there from photos and video footage that's recovered," Heisserer says.

Dwayne Johnson (formerly The Rock) tells MTV News he still wants in and that he still wants to be Black Adam. "The studio will have to decide on that, whoever the director is – hopefully, it will be Pete Segal – who is still very passionate about the project. Both of us are, by the way. I’m not too sure where it's at right now, but I would love to," says Johnson.

Louis Ozawa Changchien spoke with Gigazine (via MTV News) about the anticipated "Predator" sequel about shooting, his character, and Lawerence Fishburne. Excellent gun man and also competent with a sword," says Changchein of his character.
Starring Lawerence Fishburne, relase date July 9th, 2010
PITY THE FOOL
Have you seen that "A-Team" trailer yet? Everybody seems excited, but I'm not so sure. All the CG and the reluctance to just use the old theme leaves me a little cold. At the same time, hearing one of the professional trailer voices speak the old intro does warm my black heart. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, just plain weird, or spot Mysterio up to his usual hi-jinks, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of a movies based on "Hunter."
