THE LOSERS

Warner Bros has some confidence in the film. As our pals at Robot 6 reported yesterday, the studio is moving "The Losers" from its April 9th release date to June 4th. This means the film will be going gun for gun against "The A-Team," which opens the following week. "This is a MASSIVE vote of confidence from WB, who see it as a big summer movie after A+ test screening!" wrote creator Andy Diggle on his Twitter page. While I had been looking foward to the film coming soon, I think giving the film a higher summer profile is a good thing.

Starring Jeffey Dean Morgan, release date: June 4th, 2010

ANTMAN

"Scott Pilgrim" director Edgar Wright tells MTV News a few things about his work on the proposed "Antman" film. "It’s more like me and Kevin [Feige] [saying], 'Let's make a really good script.' We've always agreed on that — 'Lets make a good script that works, that’s all about a great genre film, and that isn’t necessarily relying on anything else." According to Wright, the project has no firm deadline at the moment. That's about all he is willing to say at the moment because, "The snipers will kill me."

Release date: TBA

BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD

We have word back from Warner Bros regarding the scheudle of the show. According to a Warner publicist, "there has been some changes in the air schedule.  We will be in repeats for the rest of February and early March. 'Super Batman of Planet X' will be our first original episode in late March." While the specific reason for that change is still unknown, it is not as dire as the Facebook fan page made it seem yesterday. While you have to wait a bit longer to see the next episode, you can at least see this clip we happen to have.

Release date: TBA

KICK-ASS

The film's official site, iwillkickass.com, is running a contest with its top prize being a cameo appearence in the second "Kick-Ass" comic book series. The site has full details, but it's basically share a picture, build a superhero identity and share. There will be voting round and the final winner will be chosen by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. There's even a trailer for the contest:

Starring Nicholas Cage, release date: April 16th, 2010

THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA

Your crazy casting rumor of the day: Chris Pine. Cinemaspy has the fairly thin rumor, but they make the case that it could fit the actor's already busy schedule. And really, he's not that crazy of a choice. I guess it's more of a wishful thinking rumor of the day.

Release date: July 22nd, 2011

FOUNDATION TRILOGY

Foundation. Roland Emmerich. Some of you may already be weeping. The director tells MTV News, "It has to be done all CG because I would not know how to shoot this thing in real." While light on specifics, he went on to say, "I think now everybody who does bigger movies has to shoot them in 3D. I think there's no way around it. I was on the set of 'Avatar' and I saw how it worked and I really thought, 'That's the ultimate way of making movies.'" MTV teases a futher report in which Emmerich address the fear of fan wrath directly, so this could be fairly interesting.

Release date: TBA

THE WOLFMAN

Here at CBR, we have an on-set interview with Anthony Hopkins regarding the flick. He describes how he built up his character in the film. "The script is written in such a way that Sir John Talbot is this stiff guy – an English gentlemen - and I didn't want to make him like that. I wanted him to be completely off the mark and considerably more eccentric. An aristocrat who has let himself go. A very, very strange man. And that's the way I wanted to play it. I based him on a photograph of Samuel Beckett, and Joe [Johnston] seems to go along with it."

Directed by Joe Johnston, release date: TODAY!

THE LONE RANGER

Heat Vision reports Justin Haythe has signed on to write the film. He was previously working a "20,000 Leagues" prequel for Disney and adapted "Revolutionary Road" into its big screen form.

Release date: TBA

TOY STORY 3

While I've never been fond of the first two films, this trailer we have for Toy Story 3 has me intrigued. It appears they're addressing Andy growing up and forgetting about his toys, which is something that really nagged at me in the first film when Woody and Buzz were fighting for his attention. The stakes seem higher and the pre-school setting looks wild.

Release date: TBA

WEEKEND GETAWAY

Cue The School and get me a Leon Trotsky (we already have a recipe), it's the weekend! I'm definitely going to see "The Wolfman" and maybe grind up my new "Lord of the Rings Online" character. I'm also due to hit up a new local brewery and there's always the option of sleep. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, just plain weird, or spot Mysterio up to his usual hi-jinks this weekend, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of MMO related sleep deprivation.
