DOC SAVAGE

Will the pulp characters finally see modern screen success? Columbia Pictures sure hopes so. Variety reports the studio is set to bring the Man of Bronze back to the big screen. "Shane Black is attached to direct the film from a screenplay he is penning with Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry. Neal Moritz ("Fast and Furious") will produce through his Sony-based Original Film banner," writes Variety. Black wrote "The Monster Squad," and "Lethal Weapon," in the 1980s and directed "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" a few years back. He may have the right combination of elements to make it work, regardless of whether the film is set in the 30s or a modern revamp of the character.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS

It's release day at last and here at CBR we have an interview with Bruce Timm, executive producer of the film and pretty much grand poobah of all things DC Animated. It does have a couple of spoilers, but when asked about returning to the original JLU continuity, Timm replied, "Currently, there are no plans to re-visit that continuity but I've learned over the years to never say never because anything could happen but currently there are no plans."

UNBREAKABLE 2!?

Bruce Willis tells MTV News a sequel is still a possibility. Willis says the film would be the "fight" movie now that the origin has been established.

BLADE 4

Superhero Hype points to a post at Arrow In the Head in which Wesley Snipes mentions the possibility of a fourth film. Unfortunately, the site does not offer footage or, curiously, even a direct quote from Snipes.

TRON LEGACY

According to Sci Fi Wire, "Tron" director Steven Lisberger will have a cameo in the film. While talking the actor Michael Sheen about his character in the film, he let slip the following: "I met Steve ... we're in the same scenes together, or one of the scenes. He has a little cameo, yeah." Sheen plays a nightclub owner in the computer world where programs come to drink and be entertained. The first film actually hints at this concept, but never really gets into the details of the computer city.

Starring Jeff Bridges, release date: December 17th, 2010

IRON MAN 2

Don Cheadle talks with MTV News about all things War Machine:

Starring Robert Downey Jr., release date: May 7th, 2010

DEFENDOR

CHUD has an early review of the film. While not totally taken with the movie, CHUD's Devin Faraci writes, "I liked Harrelson in the role. He's got a good physicality and there's something about his features when he's playing dumb that's so likable - which I guess is why we loved him so much back on 'Cheers.'"

AWAITING THE MAIL

My copy of "Crisis on Two Earths" can't arrive soon enough and should be on my doorstep by early afternoon. Oddly enough, it'll be accompanied by the Blu-ray edition of "The Wizard of Oz," because they keep finding ways for me to re-buy that movie every five years. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of recycling shipping containers.
