I'd become a star football player, a famous boxer, or the world's fastest pizza delivery guy. "Even though I'm Canadian (no, I don't live in an igloo, and I don't play hockey every day, either) I love that "American Idol" show! Talk about excitement…great musical artists, but with an element of danger. Every episode, people get peeled off, and the longer you last, the greater your chances you'll eventually get knocked off. Like I say, riveting stuff. So when I heard the plan for Witchblade #70-#75, I was pretty excited. It's like "American Idol"…with an element of death. See, we start with 12 major Witchblade characters- including title character Sara Pezzini herself-in #70 and throw them all in a "dead pool." Each issue, interactive fan voting (see Witchblade #70 for full details) will put two characters in a "safe" zone. By the time we wind up the story line in the massive, heart wrenching #75, two characters WILL take the dirt-nap forever. No "comic book" deaths here. They'll be dead like Bucky and they ain't coming back. Could be anyone. Like I say, even Sara Pezzini herself. I'll be drawing this story arc, and I'm rather looking forward to it. The book is always fun, but this really amps things up. And besides, writer David Wohl and I may not be able to sing, but I like to think we're great storytelling artists who can bring you can bring you the goods through our computer keyboards and our pencils, if not our lungs. Join us and see. And if for whatever reason it doesn't work…well, "Canadian Idol" is starting soon. Maybe I do have a chance there. Off to the karoke bar to practice!"
