THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA
Superhero Hype reports Marvel is denying rumors the film is being delayed do to the poor performance of "The Wolfman." The rumor begins at this site, which sources the rumor as being whispered on the set of a film called "Burke and Hare." While Marvel has to deny such rumors and the source is kind of shaky, you never really know until there's a trailer on screens. Or it could be Mysterio returning from vacation.
Release date: July 22nd, 2011
IESB continues to build on its DC Entertainment rumors with the following: "The whispers in our ear (again unconfirmed!) say Chris will shepherd his Batman and the next cinematic Superman (and presumably Ryan Reynolds' 'Green Lantern', 'The Flash' and others) towards a 'Justice League' movie. That he will direct after 'The Man of Steel' and 'Batman 3' are released." They admit the rumors sounds too crazy to believe, but with the players involved, anything is possible. I can't help but wonder if DC and Warner Bros would be content to follow the Marvel game plan so exactly. That said, it might be easier to launch Wonder Woman and Green Arrow as spin-offs of a 'Justice League' film than as completely independent franchises.

SIN CITY 2
Playlist reports Robert Rodriguez talked to Empire magazine in a print article in which he seemed to doubt the film happening anytime soon. "Asked about other projects, his response to 'Sin City 2' shooting in 2010 is an aloof and terse, 'maybe," they write. It does seem like the moment for "Sin City 2" has evaporated and the project, rumored to adapt "A Dame to Kill For," has joined Rodriguez's version of "Madman" in the bin.

Latino Review has a pretty detailed recap of Saturday's trailer presentation fans recieved as a reward for getting involved in last week's "Pit Cell" event. I haven't read it myself, as the trailer will be available online before too long, but since I'm excited about all things Tron, I'll pass it along. At the Los Angeles event, "Legacy" director Joseph Kosinski and "Tron" director Steven Lisberger appeared for a Q&A with fans. Heat Vision has the recap on that event. Asked if a Tron rides is coming to Disneyland, Kosinski said, "Many things are coming."
Starring Jeff Bridges, release date: December 17th, 2010
Following last week's reports of Angelina Joile dropping out the film to star in a film called "Gravity," Entertainment Weekly has learned the actress walked away from "Gravity" as well. "Jolie's reps say the actress has passed on doing "Gravity" at Warner Bros. It's not yet clear as to why and sources indicate the Gravity portion of the story was quite premature," they write. Meanwhile, Digital Spy reports Mark Millar told STV the film is still on. "What I heard was that there's filming this year for a release at the end of next year, so the plot that they had will have some modifications now, her character will have to be written out completely. We'll see what happens," says Millar.

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD
Director Edgar Wright and the band Metric are offering a sneak peak at the film's soundtrack. "If you head over to the Facebook page of the fantastic Toronto band Metric, you can hear a sneak preview of a song they recorded for the soundtrack of 'Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.' The track in question is the amazing 'Black Sheep.' It was written during the sessions for their recent 'Fantasies' album and has been part of their live set of late."
Starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, release date: August 13th 2010
BACK TO THE WORK WEEK
So I survived my busiest social weekend in ages with nary a hangover. That means I can also take on the coming week with clear eyes and a well-rested constitution. I also had time to watch some of the special features on the "Wizard of Oz" Blu-Ray set. The six hour MGM documentary is more fascinating for Patrick Stewart's narration than the majority of clips shown from the MGM library of films. Next up is the "Dreamer of OZ" TV movie starring John Ritter that I remember really loving when it aired. I wonder if it will hold up. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, just plain weird this weekend, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of the week ahead.
