SIN CITY 2

Robert Rodriguez updates MTV News on the status of the "Sin City" sequel:

Release date: TBA

CONAN

Variety reports Rose McGowan has joined the cast of the film; not as Red Sonja, but as what Variety describes as "an evil half-human/half-witch." The actress has been attached to a "Red Sonja" project for a number of years.

Release date: 2011

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD

Comingsoon.net has your first look at a "Scott Pilgrim" poster:

I'll admit it's a bit odd to see a Scott Pilgrim image that lacks to iconography and style of the books, but this aspect of the market does have to play to a segment of the audience unfamiliar with the concept.

Starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, release date: August 13th 2010

SPIDER-MAN (BEGINS)

So, Brian Michael Bendis denies yesterday's reports of him telling a fan the film would be based on "Ultimate Spider-Man." Naturally, this comes from his Twitter page: "The online comments about me talking USm movie are false. Latino review strikes again." Latino Review, a little miffed about the latter part of the comment did some more digging. Their tipster was a fan on a rival site's message board who has since deleted his original post. He tells Latino Review, "I didn't want it to get out and start a huge conflict. This was not my intention. I'm just a dedicated fan of Bendis and Spider-Man. The last thing I would want is for one of my heroes to think I'm an inconsiderate asshole." On honest mistake started by taking a message board post as a scoop? Probably. Like I said yesterday, if the film is really based on the series, Bendis will say it on his Twitter feed before he'd tell a fan in an autograph line.

Release date: May 28th, 2012

THE HOBBIT

Ian McKellan, the most trusted source of "Hobbit" news, updates his official site with news of a June start date. McKellan was very open during production on "The Lord of the Rings" via his site, so this has a credibility rating of "very high," even with the usual seed of doubt that comes from it not being a truly official announcement.

Release date: 2012?

THOR

Samuel L. Jackson tells Access Hollywood he's still unsure if he is actually appearing in "Thor":

Starring Chris Hemsworth, release date: May 6th, 2011

UNTITLED MARK MILLAR 2

Mark Millar, master of hype, tells MTV News about another untitled project he's cooking up with Matthew Vaughn:

Millar previously announced a directorial debut that I'm listing as "Untitled Mark Millar Project."

Release date: TBA

HUMAN TARGET

IESB has an interview with star Mark Valley. The talk about the second half of the season and Valley hints at the season finale which puts some of the pieces of the show's emerging mythology together. "In the season finale, Baptiste comes back. Amy Acker shows up and plays this one character who is very pivotal in Chance's past, in that she was the catalyst for his ultimate change into becoming Christopher Chance. Lee Majors is in that episode. Armand Assante plays Chance's old boss. That was fascinating. There are a couple of major confrontations there. He's an interesting guy and a wonderful actor, and I'm just really excited that he's on the show. And, Jackie Earle Haley and I have our first fight, even though it takes place in the past. You can see the roots of their relationship and why they have such a trusting bond," says the actor.

Airs: Wednesdays

DVD DAY

Given the choice between the "Dragon Age" expansion and another Mystery Science Theater 3000 set, I chose MST3K. I haven't finished "Dragon Age: Origins" yet and the new MST3K set has some great episodes, including "The Final Sacrifice" which is one of the best episodes of the SciFi Channel era. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of "Just Cause 2" further pushing back my completion of "Dragon Age: Origins."
