GREEN LANTERN

Comic Book Movie has another collection of set photos. They're not nearly as dramatic as the group from the first day of shooting. Since then, security has tightened and, as the following picture shows, telephoto lenses will now be required:

Meanwhile, Slashfilm reports Warner Bros' top man Alan Horn announced all major releases -- including superhero films -- will be released in 3D. According to Collider, the DC Superhero stable will replace "Harry Potter" in the studio's franchise apparatus now that the series has reached its conclusion.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, release date: June 17th, 2011

KICK-ASS

How about another "Kick-Ass" trailer? (The puns! The puns!) Okay, here's one more. A trailer; not a pun:

Meanwhile, an old friend and Slashfilm report on some shenanigans involving the "Kick-Ass" pun, Google, and "Clash of the Titans."

Starring Nicholas Cage, release date: April 16th, 2010

PREDATORS

IGN has the teaser trailer for the film:

Starring Lawerence Fishburne, relase date July 9th, 2010

PREACHER

MTV News asks John Cusack about the film, only to get a "what's that?" The actor previously described a comic book project he was interested in which sounded a lot like "Preacher." His complete lack of knowledge would indicate this is not the case or he's forgotten ever hearing about the project.

Release date: TBA

THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA

IGN and other sites are reporting actor Wilson Bethel is out of the race. He announced on to his Facebook fans the following: "O Captain, My Captain... I am not He... Thanks for all of the love & support." Maybe I should I try out. I won't get the part, but it will certainly raise my profile.

Release date: July 22nd, 2011

THE MONSTER SQUAD (BEGINS)

Deadline reports "The Monster Squad" is due for a remake with Rob Cohen possibly at the helm and Michael Bay's "Plantinum Dunes" producing. Deadline describes the original as "a group of kids who worship the classic monsters suddenly discover that Dracula is in town, and he's got his pals Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Gill Man and The Mummy with him. The kids must stop their efforts to find an amulet that will give the creatures control of the world." It's just a shame we couldn't get a "Monster Squad Returns" first.

Release date: TBA

IRON MAN 2

Composer John Debney talks with Metal Insider about the film's score and working with Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello. "Having been a fan of Tom’s for quite awhile, I was thrilled when our director Jon Favreau asked me if I’d consider having Tom play on the soundtrack.  My answer was a very enthusiastic “yes” and was thrilled with what Tom brought to the score.  Tom and I worked closely together as Tom added his unique guitar sound to the score.  I would write the pieces and then Tom and I would work on guitar parts.  I’m thrilled with the outcome as Tom’s personality shines through," says Debney

Starring Robert Downey Jr., release date: May 7th, 2010

BONNYROAD

Our old friend reports Grant Morrison is involved in a project with Stephen Fry and Paul McGuigan for BBC Scotland. All our friend can say for now is, "Considering that 'Bonnyroad' is meant to be a Scottish sci-fi/fantasy series, looks like we may be getting a fair few mythological allusions…"

Release date: 2011?

WEEKEND GETAWAY

Cue "The Safety Dance" and get me a rum drink, it's the weekend! With my Comic-Con hotel situation squared away for now, I can take a few days peace. Although, there is the threat of karaoke in my future. Now that I'm thinking about it, has anyone who called in to make a reservation received a confirmation yet? Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of drunkenly singing "She's Not There."
