Today, Oni Press released the cover, title and release date for the sixth and final volume of Bryan Lee O'Malley's award-winning "Scott Pilgrim" series of graphic novels via their official blog. The book will be titled "Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour" and hits comic shops on July 20, 2010.

With anticipation for the continuation of the Canadian manga/video game mashup has been at an all-time high, fans have long wondered whether "Scott Pilgrim" the comic would get its own unique sendoff before the Edgar Wright-helmed, Michael Cera-starring movie hit theaters. The film – set for an August 13, 2010 release, will feature its own unique ending to the story of 20-something slacker Scott Pilgrim and his battle to win the heart of American Ramona Flowers by battling her seven evil ex-boyfriends, and with "Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour" shipping a month before the movie, readers should get to read O'Malley's own version of the story – including the reveal of series big bad Gideon Graves – well before they buy their tickets to the cinema.

"It's been quite a ride, and I couldn't have gotten here without the support of the fans and the retailers," said O'Malley on the blog. "It feels great to be in the home stretch, and I think this is going to be the best Scott Pilgrim book ever!"

Oni also promised that in the weeks before the July 20 release, the publisher would be prepping the dedicated Scott Pilgrim fans for the book with special events and promotions. In the past, last-minute extras for "Scott Pilgrim" volumes have included foil covers, color pages and tons of signings and convention appearances.
