Today on the official Hellboy website it was reported that writer/director Guillermo del Toro has accepted Mike Mignola's invitation to pen the introduction for Hellboy: Conqueror Worm TPB. The release date hasn't been set as yet for the collection, although the director told Hellboy.Com that he was "flattered and honored" to be personally asked by Mignola. Del Toro has long expected to direct the HELLBOY film which is still lost in development. Del Toro also told Hellboy.com that this HELLBOY project is "the film I want to make most."

In other HELLBOY News, be on the lookout early next spring, for a new BPRD three-issue mini-series plotted by Christopher Golden, Tom Sniegoski, and Mike Mignola. In an earlier interview with CBR in July, Mignola commented about the need for a spin-off series that dealt with the Bureau alone. "I wanted to take Hellboy out of the Bureau and I wanted to take care of Hellboy, since he's mine," said Mignola. "But the other characters would just sit on the shelf and I wanted to let other people work on them."

"It's so difficult, I'm so slow, to develop all of the ideas I've got," he said, "and this is a way to get more of the story out there."
