IRON MAN 2

Heat Vision, amongst other sites, has posted the final US poster art for the film:

Interestingly, every site I've seen mention the poster also has a fairly "meh" opinion of it. "It's still kinda generic, and tries to emphasize the big-name cast. The marketing people need a reminder that no one cares about anyone in this movie other than star Robert Downey Jr. We care about a cool-looking Iron Man," writes Heat Vision. It's very similar to the international poster released last week. Considering all the slick promotion for the film, this does seem rather plain. Speaking of slick promotion, the Stark Expo website has opened. I've heard there's some sort of ARG element to it. Clearly, Stark Industries didn't like Encom stealing all that Internet fire. In more promo news, Marvelousnews.com reports a special Black Widow only miniposter will be available at WonderCon this weekend.

Starring Robert Downey Jr., release date: May 7th, 2010

SMALLVILLE

Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello has learned a character on the show will die. Will it be Martha Kent? Perry White? Chloe Sullivan? Zod? Or perhaps ... Lana Lang? "Rumor has it Kristin Kreuk was spotted on the Smallville set this week. Rumor also has it I fabricated the above rumor just to make trouble. Finally, there's a rumor going around that one of the previous two rumors is 100 percent true. All joking aside, rumor has it KK is currently in Vancouver. Or is she? I've said too much!" writes Ausiello one day before April Fool's Day.

New episode: April 2nd, 2010

THE WALKING DEAD

Frank Darabont tells Ain't It Cool News the six-episode order does not constitute a miniseries, a la AMC's recent "Prisoner" remake. Darabont compares it the strategy AMC used with "Breaking Bad." The director writes, "Those familiar with 'Breaking Bad' may have noticed it was actually a 'half season' approach consisting of 7 episodes. When that first season proved successful, AMC then transitioned to the standard 13 episodes per year as of season two." He also considers the episode order a show of faith in the concept.

Airdate: October

KICK-ASS

Movies.ie (via Comic Book Movie) has some video interviews with the kids of the film. They're unusually long for video interviews and Chloe Moretz continues to be kind of creepy:

Meanwhile, Superhero Hype gets its own exclusive clip and IGN updates their library with a few more.

Starring Nicholas Cage, release date: April 16th, 2010

LAST DAYS OF AMERICAN CRIME

Sam Worthington tells MTV News about the latest on the film, why he's into it, and why he's attatched to "Dan Dare":

Release date: TBA

X-MEN 4

Our old friend has learned no one is working on the film at the moment. "I've spoken by phone and e-mail to those who Mark Millar spoke to at Fox – and they claim that yes, they did speak to him. And that while they conducted a conversation at a high level concerning the X-Men characters and the X-Universe that Fox is mapping out with future films, Mark was not offered a role. Well not yet anyway. They also say that there is no 'X-Men 4' project being worked on right now – which is also why he was not offered the job of writing on it." Our friend went digging because of a little Internet flamewar between Millar and a colorful source at another movie site.

Release date: TBA

WONDERCON PREP

Taking the car for some routine service as I always come due for a check-up when I'm about to drive North. I'm also getting fresh batteries, hand sanitizer, and trail mix. I'd say I was also bringing a trust machete to clear the underbrush, but that would be silly. Also, with April Fool's Day tomorrow, our old friend Mysterio may be dropping by. Watch for the mists. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of travel.
