RUNAWAYS

As we reported here at CBR yesterday, director Peter Sollett is in negotiations to direct a film based on the Marvel Comic. This is not be confused with the already released "The Runaways" about the all-girl group from the late 1970s. I found myself reading a lot of press about that film because I knew Marvel's "Runaways" was a film possibility and headlines can be misleading. I imagine that won't be a problem for much longer.

BATMAN 3

I need to change my "Batman 3" boilerplate now that there is a draft floating around. Always beware rumors surrounding this film. That said, Batman on Film has heard Emily Blunt may have passed on the "Captain America" role because she may appear in "Batman 3." Their source suggests she will play Selina Kyle. The site goes to great lengths to remind you this is a rumor and while Emily Blunt is definitely a more realistic casting choice than Cher, I'm still going to categorize it as wild speculation.

PLANET OF THE APES (BEGINS)

Special effects guru Aaron Sims tells MTV News the "Apes" reboot is "just starting." It may even have a director, but Sims is playing it close to the vest in this video:

SLEEP OF THE JUST

Now that spring is here, a bad's night sleep is my constant companion. With my birthday coming up, I think I'm going to dedicate some time to figure out why I can't sleep well during this time of year. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of restless sleep.
