Harvey Awards Nomination Ballot Due Friday, April 23rd

Nomination ballots for the 2010 Harvey Awards, honoring works published in 2009, are due Friday, April 23rd. Ballots will be accepted by email until midnight, April 23rd. For those who wish to mail the ballot, it must be postmarked by April 23rd!

Ballots can be downloaded from HarveyAwards.org. Completed forms can be e-mailed to harveyballots@hotmail.com.

In addition to voting, creators are invited to blog, tweet, and use other social networking options to promote their work and the Harvey Awards. Professionals and fans can join us on facebook (facebook.com/harveyawards), twitter (@harveyawards), and our website at www.harveyawards.org.

Nominees for this year, as well as any prior year, can use the Harvey Awards Logo bullet on their websites and published works to show that they have been honored. The Harvey Awards will be presented Saturday August 28th, 2010 in Baltimore as part of the Baltimore Comic-Con. This year, our Master of Cermonies will be Scott Kurtz, creator of PvP, the popular comic-strip hosted at pvponline.com. This will be Scott's second year as MC.

Nominations for the Harvey Awards are selected exclusively by creators - those who write, draw, ink, letter, color, design, edit or are otherwise involved in a creative capacity in the comics field. The Harvey Awards are the only industry awards both nominated and selected by the full body of comic book professionals.

As in prior years, attendees of the Harvey Awards Ceremonies will receive a Hollywood style swag bag. The bag from the 2008 dinner included "Batman Illustrated" by Neal Adams from DC Comics, "PvP, Vol 1 by Scott Kurtz from Image Comics, "Mom's Cancer" from Abrams Comicarts, an imprint of Harry N. Abrams, Inc., Magnus: Robot Fighter Archive Hardcovers , from Dark Horse Comics, "Creator Chronicles Preview DVD" from Woodcrest Productions and Eva Ink, A Phineas and Ferb Chapter Book from Disney Books, "Darkness Accursed" TP from Top Cow Productions, Comics from Diamond Comics Distributors, IDW, and BOOM Studios, a Toon Tumbler drinking glass from Popfun merchandising, and an exclusive Harvey Awards keychain from LaserMach.

This year's Baltimore Comic-Con will be held August 28-29, 2010. Convention hours are Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM. The ceremony and banquet for the Harvey Awards will be held Saturday night, August 28. Additional details about the Harvey Awards and the awards ceremony will be released over the next few months.
