IRON MAN 2

The Los Angeles Times continues its countdown to the film's release with a number of clips from the film. Meanwhile, Justin Theroux tells UGO they avoided using the "Demon in the Bottle" storyline because "nobody wants to see Tony like that ...We realized that in a comic book you can have one key-frame where it's a guy, drunk, but in a movie, that's gotta be a big scene and it's gotta be addressed." Also, some early reviews of the film are coming in, such as Harry Knowles at Ain't It Cool News. I think he liked it. Also, in case you missed it, we have a look at the press conference for the film which took place on Friday.

Starring Robert Downey Jr., release date: May 7th, 2010

JONAH HEX

There was a test screening of the film recently and the consensus from people who wrote about it to Ain't It Cool News is pretty damning. "Even with low expectations this film was a complete and utter mess," writes one viewer. While everyone praises Josh Brolin in the role, they find the movie that surrounds him to be substandard. Meanwhile, megan-fox.com (via IESB) has the first few glimpses of the film:

I think "revenge gets ugly" is a pretty good tagline for the sort of film "Jonah Hex" should be. Now I just wonder if the film will be what it's supposed to be.

Release date: June 8th, 2010

COWBOYS & ALIENS

John Favreau tells Superhero Hype the reason he took on the project. "I read a great script and I loved the idea of mashing up those two genres and juxtaposing a very intense alien movie up against a very sincerely played Western," he explained. "We draw inspiration tonally from movies like 'Close Encounters' and 'Alien' and 'Predator' for the alien side and for the Western side we're looking at John Ford, Leone, and even a little bit of 'Butch and Sundance.'"

Starring Daniel Craig, release date: July 29th, 2011

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES (BEGINS)

Latino Review may or may not have received a first look at the face of the new Ninja Turtles. Their source is such a mystery, they're hesitant to call this a 100% official good scoop. Good on them for that. The mask itself looks pretty interesting and moves away from the traditional broad faced turtles of years past.

Release date: TBA

THE BOYS

In an odd sequence of events, "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake director Samuel Bayer tells Film School Rejects that "Anchorman" director Adam McKay may end up helming the film. "The studio is really hot on him," says Bayer.

Release date: TBA

SMALLVILLE

Kryptonsite has some more images from the upcoming episode "Hostage." They mostly feature Annette O'Toole as Martha Kent. It is nice to see her again.

Airs: Fridays

GETTING READY FOR A WALK

A kind soul lent me her copy "The Walking Dead: Compendium One." I knew the series had been around for awhile, but I had no idea there was so much material already. Once I've kicked this little bout of illness that has me wanting to do little else but pass out to episodes of "The Rockford Files," I'll actually start to read it. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of zombies.
