Official Press Release

Things From Another World (TFAW) is proud to announce Eisner-winning writer Brian Michael Bendis and writer/artist Jeff Parker as our guests of honor for our Avengers Day party May 19 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at our Hollywood store at 4133 NE Sandy Blvd Portland, OR 97214.

Brian Michael Bendis is one of the most successful writers working in comics today. He relaunched the Avengers books with New Avengers in 2004, and he has also been the primary mastermind behind major Marvel events like Civil War, Secret Invasion, Dark Reign, and Siege. Now, he relaunches the Avengers again with Avengers #1, with art by John Romita, Jr. (Uncanny X-Men, Kick-Ass), out May 19.

Writer Jeff Parker has been very busy this year, writing the critically acclaimed Underground limited series for Image Comics, as well as Agents of Atlas, Thunderbolts, and more for Marvel Comics. His new ongoing series for Marvel, Atlas, premieres May 19.

TFAW will kick off their Avengers Day party with a Q & A with Bendis and Parker at 7:00 p.m., followed by a signing. The store will be giving away free limited-edition Avengers prints to the first 25 attendees, and they will also have exclusive Avengers variants and copies of Atlas #1 in stock for purchase! Complimentary refreshments and snacks from Clean Plate Catering will be served.

"We are extremely excited to have awesome creators like Brian Michael Bendis and Jeff Parker at our store," said TFAW Director of Marketing Andrew McIntire. "Not only are we big fans of the Avengers and Atlas, but we're delighted to bring Brian and Jeff face-to-face with our customers."

Things From Another World is one of the nation's premier retailers of comics, toys, collectibles, and pop-culture geek goodness. Find us online at http://www.tfaw.com.
