CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

Heat Vision reports actor Toby Jones is in final negotiations to play Armin Zola in the film. Jones previously appeared as Truman Capote in "Infamous" and gives Harry Potter's Dobby the House Elf his voice. Meanwhile, Chris Evans discusses the title role with Screenrush (via Comic Book Movie):

THE GREEN HORNET

Director Michel Gondry tells Comingsoon.net a little about the 3D additions to the film. "I have a lot of ideas. I'm not supposed to talk about that because people have a lot of opinions, but I'm the one who knows what it really means. It's a tool that I'm really excited to embrace and I have tons of ideas. There's one thing that has never been done and I can't wait to do. That can only be done in 3D. I'm really excited to know that the studio is going for it. It shows, really, that they believe in the film. If they wanted to dump us, they wouldn't have done this," he says.

Staring Seth Rogen, release date: January 14th, 2011

COWBOYS & ALIENS

Director Jon Favreau talks with MTV News about Harrison Ford's casting:

IRON MAN 2

And so we have reached are last day of "Iron Man 2" press round up! Today we start with Don Cheadle discusses taking up the role of James Rhodes with The LA Times. "I just wanted to make sure that I was not taking a role away from [Terrence Howard]. Once they had moved off of him and it was clear he wasn't coming back, they offered it to me. I think they gave me five hours to decide. I was at my kid's birthday party. They were on a tight schedule and needed an answer," he recalled. The actor also discussed the character's future with MTV News. "I don't know if Rhodey stays in the military, how much latitude he really has — because you can't be independent and be in the chain of command," said Cheadle.

According to Deadline, the film has the widest initial release in history in a record 4,380 threatres across North America. If you want to see anything besides "Iron Man 2" this weekend, double check your theater times. Meanwhile, CHUD has a nice little list of the easter eggs contained in the film. Proceed only if you really want to be spoiled or you saw the movie at midnight.

Finally, Mickey Rourke discusses his character with MTV News:

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Out Now!

SMALLVILLE

Kryptonsite has posted the second part of its three-part interview with Annette O'Toole and Michael McKean. In the episode, which airs tonight, Martha and Perry are something of an item. O'Toole says of that aspect of the story, "You want your mother to be happy, and live her life, but you also have had a history with this guy, who you know was a drunk, and not a very nice one. He's had a lot of marriages and failures. So, he's kind of torn, I believe. I also don't want to speak for Tom. He's playing that part, but that's what I sort of read on his face."

Airs: Fridays

LUKE CAGE

The Los Angeles Times Hero Complex blog previews Thunderbolts #144 and suggests a Luke Cage film is on the horizon. "I hear that there's more talk underway about putting the urban hero into his own film and that a notable Hollywood star is now having (very) preliminary talks with Marvel Studios about the property and its potential," writes the LA Times' Geoff Boucher.

Release date: TBA

AVANT LA PLANETE DES SINGES

This has been rumbling for months, but Deadline reports Fox has finally firmed up the plan for the "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes" Remake/series reboot. Rupert Wyatt will direct the film, currently called "Rise of the Apes" from a script by Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa. The Fox press release offers this element of the film: "WETA Digital – employing certain of the groundbreaking technologies developed for AVATAR – will render, for the first time ever in the film series, photo-realistic apes rather than costumed actors." While I'll miss the make-up effects, I'm willing to see if this can be pulled off.

Release date: June 24th, 2011

X-MEN ORIGINS: FIRST CLASS

io9 caught up with the films screenwriters Zack Stentz and Ashley Edward Miller about landing the job. Instead of being evasive about things they cannot reveal, the writers deliver punchlines. They did say the film will have a certain amount of re-introduction to the characters."Well, look at 'Star Trek' (2009) — that's a film that did a great job of acknowledging that its characters are part of the culture, yet treating them as fresh and new to the audience," said Stentz. "I would also argue that if you're telling a story where your characters can no longer surprise the audience, you're telling the wrong story. These characters surprised us at every turn, sometimes in really wonderful and emotional ways. Those moments are what make movies great," followed Miller.

Release date: June 3rd, 2011
