GREEN LANTERN

Latino Review caught up with actor Temura Morrison over the weekend at an "Empire Strikes Back" celebration at Disney World. The actor confirmed he has completed work on "Green Lantern," and revealed he may be back for the sequel. "They want me to come back in the sequel. They want to show you my backend story for the next movie. They want to show you how I become part of Green Lantern Corps," says Morrison. Is it possible the film series will use the prophecy of Blackest Night or Atrocitus?

Starring Ryan Reynolds, release date: June 17th, 2011

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

Salon reports actor Dominic Cooper is set to play a younger version of Howard Stark in the film. As mentioned in the first "Iron Man" film, Tony's father made weapons for the war effort and much of his wealth came from that period. The second film established he was involved in the formation of S.H.I.E.L.D. and knew Nick Fury. The actor also appears in the upcoming "Tamara Drewe" based on a UK comic strip.

Starring Chris Evans, release date: July 22nd, 2011

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD

Collider has a whole bevy of set visit articles, including interviews with Edgar Wright, Michael Cera, and Jason Schwatrzman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Johnny Simmons, who plays Young Niel in the film. They also have a 38 minute video blog about the set visit:

PREDATORS

Adrian Brody tells IESB a little bit about his character in the film. "Royce is a tragic, flawed, anti-hero, comic, leading man character that I've wanted to play for many years. I had to work very hard to get to that point to convince the studio and the powers-that-be that the strength that is depicted in Hollywood films is often based on a more superficial interpretation. I think real strength comes from within, especially in military minds, and leaders are not necessarily physically imposing, but they carry that weight and they have something within them that I felt that I could convey. I did the research. It was an opportunity to incorporate a lot of things that I love. I saw that movie in theaters when I was 14 and never, in my wildest dreams, would I think I would get this kind of Schwarzenegger-esque role. It is a dream come true to me," says Brody.

Starring Lawerence Fishburne, release date: July 9th, 2010

ALPHAS

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jack Bender (the director of the "Lost" finale) has signed on as director/executive producer for the pilot. THR descibes as following "a team of ordinary citizens who possess extraordinary and unusual mental skills and take the law into their own hands."

Airdate: TBA

BATMAN: UNDER THE RED HOOD

One of the posters at Comic Book Movie points out a gallery of stills for the direct-to-video feature over at its official site.

Wait, is that Amazo? Was he involved in any of the Red Hood stories from the comics?

Release date: Summer 2010

MASS EFFECT

As our pals at Spinoff Online reported yesterday, Mass Effect is set to become a film thanks to Legendary Pictures. As some of you may know, I love the Mass Effect games and the only shame of the project is that the film version of Shepard won't look like my Shepards:

Release date: TBA

THE HOBBIT

SciFi Wire points out a Deadline article from last week in which Mike Fleming mentions the scripts are in and the film is set to begin casting in November. Like SciFi Wire, I'm pretty much tired of hearing whispers and rumors about when the film might start shooting. I know work is being down and Hobbiton is being reassembled, but it'd be nice to finally have some official word.

Release date: 2012

STILL A WAKE

I'm nearly done with Alan Wake and doing a bit of achievement hunting by trying to get to Cauldron Lake without firing a single shot. I'm not sure I'll be able to do it. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of gaming overload.
