JONAH HEX

In case you missed it here at CBR, cast and crew talks about the film and making changes to the premise. Co-star Megan Fox described the difficult road of pleasing the hard core fan. "I love them, but it's impossible to please the hardcore comic book fans because they'll never be happy, no matter what you do,"she says. "I'm a 'Lord of the Rings' fan, and I'll go on the forums and they complain about, like, that Frodo is eating the Lembas bread outside of Mordor instead of [at] the Mines of Moria, and they get really mad…and Peter Jackson and company won thirty-something Oscars for that movie. So, you can't focus completely on pleasing them because you'll never win. Then you're excluding a whole other world of people who weren't aware of the comic in the first place, so I think you have to take some sort of liberties to make it into a live action film, or it wouldn't work."

Release date: June 18th, 2010

SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK

Our pals at Robot 6 noted a report in Variety about the trouble production finding its footing. "[It] is getting it together to begin Broadway perfs in October for an opening in November or December. And this time they really, really mean it," writes Variety. Marvel has granted an extension of the rights for the production, but the article notes this will be the last if the show cannot get its curtain up.

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD

Director Edgar Wright tells MTV News about working with Bryan Lee O'Malley and what drew him to the project:

Starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, release date: August 13th 2010

PRIEST

According to Superhero Hype, the film has slipped its release date again. "The film was originally scheduled for this Aug. 27th before the studio decided to release it in 3D and moved it back to Jan. 14, 2011. The film was then moved back to March 4, 2011 a couple of months ago," they write of the film's release date history. Now, if all goes according to plan, it will be released in May of next year.

Release date: May 13th, 2011

THE GREEN HORNET

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be released on IMAX on the same day at its 2D and 3D versions. "Toronto-based Imax will digitally re-master the 3D version of the comic book actioner, complete with visual-effects shots, for its super-sized screens," they write.

Staring Seth Rogen, release date: January 14th, 2011

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER

Spanish language site MundoNarnia.com spotted the trailer for the film on the OfficialNarnia YouTube account:

LOGAN'S RUN

Our pals at Spinoff Online report writer Alex Garland is in negotiations to take on the new version of the film. They note a Heat Vision article which states, "'Run' began as a 1967 novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson; it’s the book, which had a greatly expanded world compared to the movie, that the studio and producers Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman are turning to." I don't know if anyone was clamoring for a more faithful adaptation, but there's plenty of material to mine and in this youth obsessed era, the books "dead at 21" premise could make for an interesting commentary. I just doubt they can find someone as stunning as Jenny Agutter is in the 1976 version.

Release date: TBA

THE WALKING DEAD

Bloody Disgusting reports two more actors, Linds Edwards and Jim Coleman have joined the cast of the show. "Edwards is playing "Leon Basset" while Coleman will be playing a new character, "Lambert (Lam) Kendel." They source the Walking Dead Podcast which, unfortunately, pulled its interview with Edwards at the request of AMC.

Airdate: October

COMIC-CON TRAINING

I'm caught up on assignments and nearly done with "Red Dead Redemption," which means its time to begin my training regiment for walking San Diego in July. As a soft person from Los Angeles, I have to get in to a certain shape to handle the seemingly endless amount of walking and standing involved with covering Comic-Con. So, it's time to put on my Cobra Kai hoodie and walk the earth. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of sweat.
