Director of Photography Wally Pfister (who has worked as DP under director Christopher Nolan since "Memento") tells MTV News he would like to upgrade the film to a complete IMAX production. "I can't say until I read the script, but it would certainly be my preferred, amazing goal to shoot the whole movie in IMAX," he says. He has not read the script yet, so cannot commit to IMAX. Meanwhile, Firstshowing.net plays the Riddler card, suggesting "Inception" actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt currently in the lead for the role. "We've gotten word from a reliable inside source with a studio casting grid that The Riddler is listed as a character for Chris Nolan's highly anticipated to the sequel to 'The Dark Knight,' which is still called 'Batman 3' at Warner Bros. Even more interesting, the actor currently listed in the same grid to play the assumed villain is none other than Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whose status is just listed as 'interested,'" they write. They point out these grids as industry documents, but since their source is unnamed, it could be the work of Mr. Mxyptlk.

USA Today offers a less formal shot of the Mighty Thor working Mjolnir. At first glance, it looks like he's retrieving the hammer from a stone, but could he be pummeling something? Take a look and decide:

Though director Adam McKay is not officially involved in make the film yet, he's more than happy to talk about it. He tells CHUD he would cast Simon Pegg as his comic book counterpart Wee Hughie. SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD
Director Edgar Wright discusses adapting the comic series with Heat Vision. "From the start, I wanted to make sure that the creator was involved. So Michael Bacall and I went to Toronto to meet Bryan Lee O'Malley; we went to all the locations in the book and picked his brain about what he intended for the rest of the series. I've never adapted anything before, and there's no film similar to 'Scott Pilgrim' -- it's a romantic comedy that explodes into an action film. Michael and I looked at films within the 'teen romance' and 'fight' genres, like 'The Breakfast Club' and 'Say Anything.' It was about finding the language that rhymed and recurred between the two genres," he says. The article goes onto to feature quotes from "Avengers" writer Zak Penn and "Green Lantern's" Greg Berlanti among other who have chosen to take the four color world into widescreen.
Starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, release date: August 13th 2010
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER
Here at CBR, we have two amazing images that will be featured on promo posters given away at Comic-Con. While it's nice to get a good look at Loki's thrilling head gear, I wanted to focus in on the Cap image:
I'm really looking forward to this film the most as it is both a period piece and a superhero origin film. Those are tough things to balance, but director Joe Johnston pulled it off before with "The Rocketeer."
Starring Chris Evans, release date: July 22nd, 2011
Variety reports writer Mark Protosevich is set to adapt the comic with the hopes of directing. Protosevich is not stranger to comics, having worked on adapting "Thor" to the big screen. Variety describes the project as centering on "five young protagonists who are turned into mutants by a cataclysmic chemical explosion and must decide whether to use their newfound powers to save the city or exact revenge on those responsible after the world's only superhero is killed." The comic itself will be a three issue miniseries released from January 2011.

GHOST RIDER 2: SPIRITS OF VENGENCE
In the rush to get everything read for Comic-Con, I negelected to note Eva Mendes will not be returning to series. When Superhero Hype asked about a return recently, she replied, "No, unfortunately." While it's sad to see her go, I have to wonder if Donal Logue will return as Johnny's ... um ... manager? Best friend? Comic relief?

THE STRANGE CASE OF HYDE
Heat Vision reports "The Strange Case of Hyde" has already been optioned by Skydance Productions, in cooperation with Dark Horse Entertainment and producer Mark Gordon. "'Hyde' is not a retelling of the story but seeks to give it a fresh take by making the split personality the center of a Victorian-era action-adventure that sees him go head-to-head against a historical villain. Dark Horse will unveil the comic book this week at Comic-Con," they write.
